The Houston Rockets thought they needed a veteran scoring leader, so they traded for Kevin Durant.
The move seemed impactful on paper, but they won as many games as the previous season and lost one fewer playoff game, all while suffering some chemistry issues behind the scenes. As such, it wasn't much of a surprise to see Durant's name tangled up in trade rumors earlier in free agency. However, it looks like that interest has dissipated, and the Rockets can't find much of a market for the aging superstar.

"There does not seem to be a market for Durant, who is 37 and has $90 million over two years on his contract," wrote Heavy's Sean Deveney. "Rumors of Pistons interest has faded as the focus there is on re-signing Jalen Duren. Maybe a Durant deal comes back up after that gets done? It’s a longshot."
Durant is undeniably one of the greatest scoring forces in the history of the NBA. He's a plug-and-play guy who could fit almost every single system and roster in NBA history.
However, he hasn't found much success since leaving the Golden State Warriors. Either because of injuries, misfortune or because his team has imploded, adding Durant has done little to help the three teams he's played for since he left the Bay Area.
With such a lofty contract, some concerns about his demeanor and at 37, even Durant might have a tough time fetching strong interest in today's league, especially with the new CBA and its salary-cap constraints.
