KRAFTON (CEO Kim Chang-han) has completed a strategic investment in Neon Commerce, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as Neon), a global game commerce infrastructure company.
This investment is part of KRAFTON's strategy to expand its touchpoints with global users and strengthen its user-centric ecosystem. Based on this investment, KRAFTON plans to accelerate the development of its own payment system and enhance its global payment capabilities.
Neon is a global game commerce infrastructure company that supports game publishers in building, operating, and expanding their user-facing ecosystems. It provides integrated support for various services, including a payment system that connects diverse payment methods, compliance with country-specific tax and regulatory requirements, and the construction of direct-to-consumer online shops. Through these services, it offers users a convenient purchasing experience while providing game companies with a foundation to expand direct engagement with their users.
Through close collaboration with Neon, KRAFTON plans to internalize its payment service capabilities and provide a more stable and convenient purchasing experience for global users. By leveraging its own payment services, the company aims to improve payment convenience while creating an environment where it can directly offer various benefits and services to users. In doing so, KRAFTON intends to strengthen its global service operations and enhance its publishing platform competitiveness by expanding direct user engagement.
Thomas Ko, Director of KRAFTON's Publishing Platform Division, stated, "This investment marks an important starting point for KRAFTON to strengthen the service foundation that connects us directly with global users. By utilizing the game commerce infrastructure provided by Neon, we will offer better purchasing experiences and benefits, and continue to expand our user-centric service ecosystem."
Chris Faught, CEO of Neon Commerce, said, "Neon Commerce has focused on providing the scalability and flexibility that game companies need to operate direct-to-consumer businesses. The game commerce infrastructure we will build together with KRAFTON will set a new standard for the entire gaming industry."
