USERJOY announced on the 23rd that it has released a free Steam demo version of its upcoming fantasy strategy RPG, 'The Legend of Fancy Realm Remake'.

'The Legend of Fancy Realm Remake' is a modern reimagining of the 1998 classic SRPG 'The Legend of Fancy Realm'. While preserving the original's strategic combat, multi-ending structure, unique characters, and fantasy world, the remake significantly enhances the combat interface, control accessibility, and overall content.

The demo features the early story of the remake and seven classic stages representative of the original. Players can join the 2nd Order of Knights of the Wospita Republic, led by the protagonist Leonard, to infiltrate the Ramis Empire and uncover the conspiracy hidden within the Panosong Continent. Save data from the demo will carry over to the full version upon release.

The combat interface has been completely overhauled, allowing players to intuitively view character information, skill lists, status effects, enemy and ally data, and the battlefield status on a single screen. Convenience features such as 'Damage Preview,' 'Action Priority,' and 'Skill Descriptions' help players anticipate attack outcomes and action sequences to formulate precise strategies.

The game also supports a 'Rewind' feature, allowing players to return to a previous point during combat, and 'Dynamic Difficulty Adjustment,' which changes the difficulty based on progress. These features reduce the burden on beginners while allowing experienced players to focus more on strategic elements like character positioning, terrain utilization, and skill combinations.

Alongside the demo release, the exclusive 'Final Classes' for all characters have been unveiled for the first time. While only a few characters could reach a final class in the original, all major characters in the remake can now attain unique final classes with exclusive abilities and new skills.

Major characters including Leonard, Tina, and Ho will grow into unique final classes such as 'Apocalypse Swordsman,' 'Princess,' 'Heavenly Bow of the Holy Arc,' 'Black Wings of Dawn,' 'Imperial Dark Sword,' 'Spirit Queen,' 'Beast Soul Conqueror,' and 'Sword Princess of Purification.' These final classes offer more than just stat boosts; they provide roles and skills tailored to each character's background and combat traits, allowing players to utilize diverse combinations and tactics based on stage composition and enemy characteristics.

The card play system, introduced for the first time in this demo, allows players to collect various cards—including heroes, soldiers, creatures, and magic—to build their own decks. By leveraging the roles and special abilities of each card, players can adjust their attack, defense, control, and support strategies, experiencing new tactical fun in every battle.

A USERJOY representative stated, "We have incorporated both the sentiment of the original and modern convenience so that both long-time fans of 'The Legend of Fancy Realm' and new players can enjoy the game. We hope you experience the newly revamped strategic combat, final classes, and card play through the demo."

USERJOY plans to conduct a survey for players who complete the demo to gather feedback on desired content and playstyles, which will be reflected in future game development and improvements.

'The Legend of Fancy Realm Remake' is scheduled for an official release on PC via Steam in 2026 and will support five languages: Korean, English, Japanese, and Traditional and Simplified Chinese. Further details can be found on the Steam store page, the official website, and the Discord channel.
