The SEC Network analyst doesn't have a ton of optimism for Kalen DeBoer's program heading into the 2026 college football season. Alabama has been far from elite since Nick Saban retired. The Crimson Tide went 9-4 in his first season and 11-4 last season, losing to Indiana in the College Football Playoff at the Rose Bowl.
Alabama is hoping to contend in a big way in 2026. However, Rodgers isn't quite sure that Alabama will be able to play at an elite level.
The younger brother of legendary NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers could see Alabama disappointing in a major way, perhaps only winning eight games during the regular season.
During Wednesday’s edition of The Paul Finebaum Show, Rodgers expressed his concern.

“I have concerns (about Alabama),” Rodgers said. “I look at the schedule and I go, ‘man, the margin between eight wins and 10 wins is small’. And right now, I’m leaning towards thinking they could be an eight-win team. Just because of the unknowns.
“Now, we could get four weeks in and they could be 4-0, because the schedule lays out pretty well. It could be Keelon Russell that’s looking like a superstar, and we could absolutely change the narrative. It’s not all doom and gloom, but there are legitimate valid questions.”
Alabama will look to prove Rodgers wrong during the regular season, but right now, the SEC Network analyst isn't very high on the Crimson Tide.
