OK, look. It's July. We are very close to the start of NFL training camps and the return of actual football news. But we're not there yet, so we're left to find gridiron gratification where we can.
Mocking the New York Jets? I mean, it's a bit played out, but summer is time for reruns. Fortunately, the franchise the playoffs forgot has risen up to give us something to help gloss over the fact their starting quarterback keeps getting pulled over and/or investigated by the police. On Tuesday, the team revealed a new logo that, uh... Huh. Well.
Behold, your 2026 New York Squinting Clams.
Someone in the Jets organization, possibly a Johnson son bored waiting for the new Madden to come out so he could properly analyze his roster, asked for a parti of New York's already fairly minimalist logo. They responded with this, a design so basic and shoddy the original USFL would have passed on it. "Take our plane and make it a bivalve," I imagine was the order. And, all due respect to the creator, they absolutely nailed it.
Finally, the Jets can look just as confounding as they played in 2025. Fortunately, their new white helmet reveal was significantly better than the new decal that will almost certainly be banished to the archives of SportsLogos.net shortly after the season.
Hell yeah. Clean lines, simple design and a throwback to better days. Keep the "JETS" in Jets, New York.
