Jennifer Garner and Judy Greer are back together again!
The two actresses were spotted on the set of Netflix’s 13 Going on 30 reboot on Tuesday, July 21, wearing what appear to be costumes for the project.
Garner, 54, and Greer, 51, were photographed leaving a building, with the former in a floral dress and the latter in business mode in a blue suit. They were joined by Emily Bader, who along with Logan Lerman stars in the new reboot.
Garner and Greer played childhood friends-turned-rivals in the hit 2004 rom-com 13 Going on 30, costarring Mark Ruffalo and Andy Serkis. Garner played Jenna Rink, a 13-year-old who wakes up years in the future in the body of her 30-year-old self.
Brett Haley is set to direct the new film, which includes Garner among its executive producers. No other details have been released. It’s still unclear if Bader, 29, and Lerman, 34, will play Jenna and Matty (Ruffalo’s character), or if the actors will find themselves in a new story.
It also remains to be seen what roles Garner and Greer are playing in the reboot. “I do love to work for Jennifer Garner, so I probably have a really hard time saying no to her for anything,” Greer told Entertainment Tonight in April when asked about reprising her role as Lucy. “And she knows that, by the way.”
The actresses have maintained a close friendship since starring in 13 Going on 30, and reunited onscreen recently in The Five Star Weekend.
Garner recently revealed that she and her friend even lived together while filming the Peacock series on Nantucket. “She was my roommate,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “I rented a house and I just said, ‘Oh, Judy, just come stay with me.’ So that was extra fun.”
Ahead of directing the reboot, Haley said in a statement, “13 Going on 30 is one of those rare, perfect films. Funny, emotional, deeply human, with unforgettable performances from Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, and Judy Greer. I’m a longtime fan, so stepping into this reimagining comes with tremendous responsibility.”
He added, “Jennifer Garner being on board as an executive producer, after playing such a big part of what made the original special, is especially meaningful.”
