The Indiana Fever ended the first half of the 2026 WNBA season with an exclamation point.
The Fever set a new record for the most points scored in franchise history in the team's 123-88 win over the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday, July 22, in Indiana's final game before the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game. The Fever's Big 3 of Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston, who will represent Indiana in Chicago this weekend, gave fans at Indianapolis' Gainbridge Fieldhouse a show that brought everyone to their feet.
Clark finished with a 27-point, 11-assist double-double in the win, shooting 8-of-13 from the field and 5-of-9 from the 3-point line. Mitchell added 23 points and four rebounds, while Boston had 22 points, six rebounds and five assists. Wednesday marked the third time this season that the Fever's Big 3 has scored 20 or more points each. No other teammate trio in the league has achieved that feat once.

"I thought we just started off really well. We kind of have got off to a couple slow starts in our last couple games, so that was a focus coming in for us tonight," Clark said after the win. "Thought we shared the ball really well. We played up tempo and then obviously everybody just had one of those nights where the ball was going through the hoop and I thought we finished well, too."
The Fever's 70 first-half points also marked a franchise record.

The Fever led the Sun by as many as 34 points in the third quarter and have a 28-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Caitlin Clark has already recorded a double-double with 27 points and 11 assists in the first three quarters, but she's cooled down significantly from the 3-point line. After starting 5-of-5 from beyond the arc, she's missed her last four 3-point attempts. Aliyah Boston has 22 points, six rebounds and five assists, while Kelsey Mitchell has added 20 points.
Diamond Miller has a team-high 14 points for the Sun. Saniya Rivers has added 12 points off the bench.
Caitlin Clark, Saniya Rivers called for technical fouls
Caitlin Clark and Saniya Rivers were called for offsetting technical fouls with 28.8 seconds remaining in the third quarter, as the Fever led the Sun 96-67. The two exchanged some words and Clark told Rivers to "look at the scoreboard."
It marks Clark's seventh technical of the season. She's now one away from receiving an automatic one-game suspension.
Leila Lacan shaken up
Sun guard Leila Lacan was subbed out of Wednesday's matchup against the Fever after appearing to injure her right leg after stepping on Lexie Hull's foot with 8:14 remaining in the third quarter.

The Fever are firing on all cylinders and set a new record to show for it. Indiana's 70 points in the first half of Wednesday's matchup against the Sun marks a new franchise high. More than half of those points belong to the highest scoring duo in the league in Caitlin Clark (21 points) and Kelsey Mitchell (16 points).
Clark is shooting 7-of-10 from the field and 5-of-7 from the 3-point line, rounding out her stat sheet with seven assists. Clark has scored or assisted on 35 of the Fever's 70 points.
The Fever outscored the Sun 34-20 in the second quarter to take a 24-point lead into halftime. Indiana is getting contributions from everyone. Eight different Fever players have scored, including all five starters. Indiana is collectively shooting 63% from the field and 8-of-15 from the 3-point line. The Fever also have the advantage on the boards (20-12), in the paint (38-24) and in transition (5-4).
Diamond Miller leads the Sun with 11 points. Leila Lacan added 10 points and three steals.

Clark is up to 17 points on the night, shooting a perfect 5-of-5 from the 3-point line with 8:45 remaining in the second quarter.

The Fever can't miss. Indiana shot a staggering 68% from the field and 5-of-8 from the 3-point line in the first quarter to build a 10-point lead over the Sun heading into the second quarter.
Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark led the way with 11 points each. Mitchell is 4-of-6 from the field and 2-of-3 from the 3-point line, while Clark is 4-of-5 from the field and 3-of-3 from deep. Aliyah Boston added six points.
The Sun haven't been able to connect from the 3-point line yet, going 0-of-5 from beyond the arc in the first quarter. Leila Lacan has a team-high eight points for the Sun.

Fever guard Caitlin Clark won't participate in the WNBA All-Star 3-Point Contest, but fans got a preview of what it would be like if she were in the field after Clark knocked down three 3-pointers in the first four minutes of Wednesday's matchup against the Sun.
Clark opened scoring for the Fever with a 3-pointer just 19 seconds into the game. She knocked down her second 1:13 into the matchup and her third 3-point came 3:55 into the first quarter. Clark is up to 11 points in four minutes, shooting 4-of-4 from the field and 3-of-3 from the 3-point line.
