NBA 2K27 just revealed its three cover athletes, and Caitlin Clark made the cut. The announcement came Wednesday, July 22, with Victor Wembanyama from the San Antonio Spurs and former MVP Derrick Rose being the other two stars. Clark’s on the deluxe edition, Wembanyama’s on the standard, and Rose is on the ultra edition.
2K executive Zak Armitage said in a statement, “Victor Wembanyama, Caitlin Clark, and Derrick Rose each come from different worlds, but they share the same obsession that has altered the trajectory of the game. Wembanyama has broken the mold for what a big man can be and keeps breaking it.”
“Clark is pulling up from the logo, not just redefining what range looks like, but the women’s game entirely. And Rose changed what it meant to be a point guard: explosive, physical, unstoppable, and when faced with setbacks, his hunger for the game is what brought him back. None of them have an off switch, and that same relentless drive is what defines NBA2K27,” Armitage added.
Caitlin Clark Becomes First WNBA Player To Be On Her Own Global Cover
Indiana Fever posted on social media to celebrate their point guard’s big moment. The team wrote, “NBA 2K27 Deluxe Edition Cover Athlete. Congrats to Caitlin Clark on becoming the first WNBA player to be featured on her own global cover.”
Interestingly, Clark is in her third season with the Fever after being drafted first overall in 2024. Last week, she added another milestone to her resume when she became the first WNBA player ever to post 40 points and 10 assists in a single game.
The Fever are sitting at 16-10 and holding the No. 2 seed in the East heading into the All-Star break. Clark, 24, has been central to their success. She’s sixth in scoring at 20.7 points per game and second in assists at 7.8, just behind Phoenix’s Alyssa Thomas.
Clark earned Player of the Week honors for the Eastern Conference on Tuesday, July 21, with Kayla McBride taking the Western Conference award. It’s the second time Clark has won it this season, as she also grabbed it back in Week 5 in mid-June. Fitting for a three-time All-Star putting together the kind of year she’s having.
Clark’s got solid company in Indiana. Teammates Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell are part of a “Big Three” in the paint and backcourt, and all three made the cut as Fever starters for the WNBA’s 30th anniversary All-Star Game in Chicago on Saturday, July 25. Clark’s already the Player of the Month for June, and the Dowling Catholic alum just keeps piling on the honors as the season rolls on.
Interestingly, over a three-game stretch, she averaged 25.0 points on 43.5% shooting, along with 7.7 assists and 2.3 rebounds. The Fever highlighted her week on social media, with the centerpiece being her 45-point, 10-assist performance in a 110-107 win over Seattle on July 17, the kind of game that reminds everyone why the 6-foot guard is still one of the league’s most electric players.
