Samsung's on its way to The Big Smoke, the heart of Britain, to unveil a new batch of folding phones. According to various reports, the spotlight will likely fall on the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 lineup of book-style devices while the simpler Galaxy Z Flip 8 plays second fiddle this time around.
Whispers about Unpacked, Samsung's second in 2026, suggest the company will also add two new models to its smartwatch lineup: the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, both follow-ups to previous-generation wearables.

What to Expect: A Wide-boi?
The tech-o-sphere has been alive with chatter about the rumored new "wide" Galaxy Z Fold.
We're used to seeing the Galaxy Z Fold in a tall-and-skinny chassis, but this time around, whispers are growing louder about a new passport-style shape that's more reminiscent of the first-generation Google Pixel Fold.
Samsung strongly hinted at the new form with its cryptic Instagram campaign, playfully teasing the Galaxy Z Fold's changed proportions. Relying on clever visual metaphors about its dimensions, Samsung all but confessed that a wider Fold is on the horizon.
According to a leak from Roland Quandt at Winfuture, the Galaxy Z Fold Wide will feature a 5.5-inch outer screen and a 7.6-inch inner display with an aspect ratio optimized for media consumption, resulting in slimmer black bars while watching videos. Quandt added that the wide Z Fold will cut corners in the camera department. While the Z Fold 7 had a 200MP main camera, don't expect the same shooter on the Wide; it will reportedly feature a 50MP main lens instead.
Moving Up to Ultra
If you're concerned that this new wide form factor will replace the candy bar-esque silhouette, don't worry. The passport-style foldable will likely be a new family member in the Galaxy Z Fold lineup. The tall-and-skinny version will be moved up a tier and gain the Ultra moniker, according to Quandt. It may also feature a larger 5,000mAh battery compared with the Z Fold Wide's 4,800mAh battery.
A true successor to the Z Fold 7, the Ultra will supposedly have the same display specs as the older model: a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8-inch inner display. Quandt claims that both foldables will have a less visible crease thanks to a new titanium substrate material teased by the company. Both devices may also have the same chip found in the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, as well as faster wired charging up to 45W.
The new chip in the Z Flip 8 could be the Samsung Exynos 2600, according to a leak from Galaxy Club.
The specs for the clamshell foldable appear quite similar to those of its predecessor. It is expected to have a 4.1-inch Cover Display, a 6.9-inch inner display, a 4,300mAh battery, and the same camera setup (50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, 10MP selfie). Galaxy Club also claims that the Z Flip 8 will be slimmer and lighter than the previous model.
Time for a New Galaxy Watch
Quandt also leaked information about Samsung's new Galaxy smartwatches. The displays of the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will remain the same, but they’ll both reportedly pack new Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite chips. Quandt claims that both models will receive a battery capacity upgrade, but the Ultra 2 will see a larger year-over-year boost.
As for pricing across the foldables and smartwatches, expect all models to be more expensive; it’s a given with the current component crisis.
