Sam Darnold established himself as a franchise quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks during the 2025 season. Darnold was a high-level performer en route to the organization winning Super Bowl 60. The former USC standout will now attempt to repeat that success in 2026 while defending his Lombardi title.
Darnold threw for an effective 4,048 yards during the campaign. He threw for 25 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Darnold's 2026 goals will include a similar amount of passing touchdowns while eliminating some turnovers.
The Seahawks have undergone significant changes on offense. Brian Fleury is the new offensive coordinator, replacing Klint Kubiak. The team also lost Super Bowl 60 MVP Kenneth Walker III to free agency, replacing him with rookie Jadarian Price, and a possible increased workload for George Holani (until Zach Charbonnet is back healthy).
Coach Fleury was once a run-game expert for Kyle Shanahan and the San Francisco 49ers. That would possibly indicate he'll prefer to lean on the ground game. With so much uncertainty at running back, though, the Seahawks will need Darnold to operate a well-balanced offense.
The Seahawks remain deep at wide receiver, with reigning Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba leading a position that also has Cooper Kupp and Rashid Shaheed. Darnold should throw for another 25+ touchdowns, with the upside for a 30+ TD season. Darnold appears primed for another big season in Seattle.
