Newly released dispatch audio has revealed some tragic details about the death of actress Kaylee Hottle.
Kaylee, who starred alongside Millie Bobby Brown in Godzilla vs. Kong, died at the age of 18 following a car accident in Maryland on Tuesday, July 21. The actress' heart stopped on the way to the hospital, her devastated father Joshua Hottle revealed.
Kaylee was deaf and was part of a multi-generational deaf family. According to Frederick County Sheriff, Fire and EMS dispatch audio, first responders asked for help finding someone who knew sign language so they could communicate with Kaylee. Tributes have been pouring in for the actress following her death.

The dispatch audio, which was obtained by Page Six, revealed Kaylee was "unconscious" when first responders arrived on the scene of the car crash. One dispatcher explained Kaylee was visiting the area. They said the friend she was with didn't have contact information for her family.
In the audio, officials were heard asking, "If anybody has access to the interpreter app on the phones, can you please start this way? Because we need a sign language interpreter."
The car crash was described as "heavy front-end damage," with first responders saying the vehicle traveled roughly 10 feet off the roadway and into a culvert. Emergency personnel also asked medics to help a second person at the scene who was complaining of rib pain.
The audio also revealed dispatchers had managed to speak with Kaylee's father over the phone. Joshua shared the news of his daughter's death as he posted a video on Facebook explaining how he had to fly from Texas to claim her body. He captioned the post, "I am taking a flight that I never would like to take."
A press release from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office said Kaylee died after the driver of the car she was in "swerved off the road and hit a ditch" at 3 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21. She was one of two passengers involved in the crash.
Police say a 19-year-old had been driving a 1995 Honda Accord when the vehicle "traveled off the right side of the two-lane roadway and struck a culvert." It's believed excessive speed was a contributing factor in the crash.
The driver of the car was taken to a local hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The second passenger declined medical treatment at the scene. Kaylee was was taken to a nearby trauma center, where she was later pronounced dead.
Tributes have been pouring in for Kaylee. Her Godzilla vs. Kong co-star Rebecca Hall posted on Instagram, "Devastated to hear this news. My heart goes out to your family. You will be missed Kaylee."
Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown added, "I’m so devastated to hear this. You will be deeply missed Kaylee," as she shared pictures of Kaylee in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
New Empire actor Dan Stevens also posted a picture of Kaylee on his Instagram Story and added a broken heart emoji. Legendary Pictures, the production company behind the Godzilla movies, said in a statement on X, "We are devastated by the tragic passing of Kaylee Hottle.
"Through her unforgettable portrayal of Jia, Kaylee brought extraordinary heart, humanity, and light to Godzilla, Kong, and the Monsterverse. She was a cherished member of our film family, and her kindness, warmth, and remarkable talent touched everyone fortunate enough to work alongside her. Our hearts are with her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her during this unimaginably difficult time."
