Double lives fascinate me, because I think it’s hard enough to keep up one relationship, let alone two. How would you feel if your spouse’s affair partner called you up to say that they’ve spent the last year dating your spouse?
This woman has spent quite a long time married to her husband. They have kids who are teenagers, a house, and a whole life that they have built together over the years.
She says their marriage has had highs and lows, and the last several months have been pretty wonderful. She and her husband haven’t been arguing as much, and he’s been ridiculously loving and sweet.
Looking back, she thinks that was a sign.
“I started shaking. I got up from my desk at work and went to my car and called her back, and we had a discussion. It was very obvious she was telling the truth.”
“She knew about me for a long time, but he told her a dozen lies about me being abusive, him wanting a divorce, etc. She knew my schedule, so she knew when I wasn't home, so they'd be able to talk on the phone. She told me about my trip to my parents last month, where the kids and I were gone for a week, and what they did in our house.”
Her husband’s mistress even revealed to her that they have been apartment shopping lately, and when her husband began acting weird, she had a bad feeling he was lying to her about his story.
That’s why her husband’s mistress called her; she wanted the truth. When her husband’s mistress heard her version of events, she promptly blocked her husband.
She then drove home from work and confronted her husband. He lied and said he wasn’t cheating on her while pleading with her to listen to what he had to say.
But then he walked out of the house with his phone, his car keys, and the clothes on his back. She blocked her husband from being able to text or call her and took her kids to her friend’s house.
“There is no saving a marriage where my husband [was physically romantic] with someone else and me the same night. Sick!!…I did not kidnap our children,” she added.
“I dropped them off at their friend’s house for a sleepover so I could cry and scream and cry more without scaring them. They have cell phones, and they're teenagers.”
She’s left wondering what to do.
Well, at least her husband’s mistress had the decency to tell her what was going on. Now she needs to hurry up and get a lawyer so she can divorce him.
It’s not her fault that her husband did this to her, and sadly, life as she knows it is over.
