President Donald Trump created more headlines after his viral stunt at the FIFA World Cup trophy celebration with Spain. Just hours after lingering on the stage with the champions and allegedly getting “booed” by the stadium, he was the center of another viral moment, this time while exiting Air Force One.
According to The Daily Beast, Trump appeared to visibly struggle as he descended down the steps of Air Force One. After the FIFA celebration, he boarded Air Force One from New Jersey to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. Video of his exit from Air Force One is now going viral as he clutches the handrail while walking down, pausing midway before resuming.
Reportedly, Trump held onto the guard rail as he made his way down the Air Force One staircase after landing at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. The video shows the 80-year-old tapping the railing several times before switching the grip to the lower rail while descending. He also lurched as he walked out of the aircraft and struggled to walk in a straight line, generating more headlines and scrutiny over his health.
A post on X praising the POTUS for “never slowing down” got backlash as people noticed his struggle to walk. One man wrote,” ‘he never slows down’- dude. he literally paused whilest walking down the stairs. he has heart, lung and kidney diseases, dementia, he can’t walk a straight line. it’s more than obvious that he is NOT well.” Another added, “Trump seems to walk the stairs slower and slower by the week.”
This isn’t the first time this has happened. Earlier this month, footage of Trump walking across the tarmac went viral as he was lurching in that one too. Journalist Aaron Rupar shared the footage and said, “Trump walks like a guy failing a sobriety test, then labors to get into a helicopter.” Trump gave one of his legs a slap in both videos. One user noticed it and said, “Gives that draggy ol right leg a slap, like it’s a dying horse he’s just hoping and praying gets him across the finish line one more time.” Another added, “Trump has a noticeable limp. It won’t be long until he is in a wheelchair.”
This comes after the president spoke about being deliberately cautious when tackling the Air Force One stairs. He said in May, “I’m very careful when I walk, by the way, because if I ever fall… the fake news … they’re going to have… that headline will go on for years,” adding, “You know, sometimes like I walk out of the plane… I’m not looking to set any records. You go nice and easy.”
