Some of Bauer's most destructive pranks are on display in the hilarious video, captioned "Don't judge a book by its cover." The fluffy golden pup has earned over two million likes by covering himself in sticky, black mud, knocking over large indoor plants, and devouring an order of Chick-fil-A nuggets and fries so fast that a few commenters joked that he looked like a contender in a Hungry Hungry Hippo game. Others were more charmed by Bauer's mischievous spirit, with one commenting, "He's a menace.......I love it lol."

Even the most energetic dogs can learn to settle down

Even teaching your dog to stay, sit, and lie down can help reduce excitement. A simple "Stay! or "Down!" command may be all that's needed to keep your dog calm during a busy moment — after some practice.
Exercise is just as important as training. Many dogs are happy with a short walk or two during the day, but high-energy dogs and puppies often need exercise to burn excess energy. Historically, working breeds like border collies might have spent hours moving across a field most days of the week, increasing their exercise needs as pets. If you adopt one of these athletic dogs, they'll be calmer and happier if they're fully worn out. Instead of only going for a walk, you can add a run and a game of fetch or a few rounds of tug-of-war to change things up.
