There is something to be said for having a poised, quiet, calm, and collected type of team leader who also happens to be elite on the field. The Philadelphia Eagles have that in Saquon Barkley.
We are two years into Barkley's tenure in Philly, and he's already provided several instances that should have the New York Giants thinking, "whoops." After all, the Giants let him go without much of a plan in place.
But the latest version of this conversation wasn't started by Barkley. In fact, it was Barkley's replacement who continues to make the Giants' decision look worse.
Over the weekend, at Fanatics Fest, Giants running back Cam Skattebo was seen doing a backflip on stage in front of fans. As if that wasn't bad enough, he didn't quite stick the landing and nearly fell, which of course sent Giants fans into a frenzy. Coming off an ACL tear, that's probably the last thing you want to see your starting running back do.

After the backflip situation, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport talked about not only that but a situation earlier in the summer where he was hanging out with a general manager earlier in the summer when someone called him.
"The first thought that this person had, seeing the phone call was like, 'oh my God.'"
Rapoport would explain that, during the summer months, there is absolutely zero reason to call a general manager unless something bad happens. So, if that Skattebo backflip had gone as wrong as it very well could have ... yikes.
"This is really the nightmare scenario in so, so many ways ... There is no reason to call a general manager during the summer, ever. If there's something cool happening, just text. Any phone call, you know it's bad ... If Joe Schoen is getting a call about Cam Skattebo hurting himself, doing a back flip at some Fanatics event, that is all bad."
After the incident, Skattebo was, of course, asked about it during other media opportunities during the event. He reassured Giants fans that he was fine and that the floor was bouncy, similar to that of a WWE ring, so he was perfectly okay and had only lost his balance because of the floor.
At the same time, Eagles fans had to be left smirking just a little bit. After all, they've got the running back who went for over 2,000 yards just a season ago. They've got the running back who, let's be honest, would never even think to do something that ridiculous coming off a major injury.
Let's put it this way: has there ever been a joke made about Saquon Barkley eating crayons?
I rest my case.
The Eagles have an even-keeled, well-spoken and very wise leader in Barkley. He's the guy who could have broken franchise history during that illustrious season in 2024 but chose to let the younger guys get in on the action.
He's as selfless as they come. He's as talented as they come.

And thank God, we never have to worry about Barkley doing anything like we saw over the weekend.
