SEC Media Days is officially underway. Three Bulldogs will take part in the event on Tuesday alongside Kirby Smart, but even though they weren't present on Monday there were still multiple instances where they were being discussed.
On top of that, a former Bulldog who was an integral part of Georgia's first national title in 2021 just signed a huge contract extension in the NFL.
But let's first begin with an interesting topic from SEC Media Days as Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables is making a great case for why Georgia and the Sooners should become best friends.
Georgia and Oklahoma might be best friends now
Is it possible for two schools in the same conference to be best friends? It may seem unlikely, but Georgia and Oklahoma might have a real chance.
Oklahoma took part in day one at SEC Media Days on Monday. During their time with the media Venables said multiple really nice things about Georgia. This includes calling them the "golden standard" of college football over the last few years as well as praising former OU defensive back Gentry Williams who transferred to Georgia this offseason.
It will be interesting to see if the vibes change after Georgia and Oklahoma play later this season, but for now the Bulldogs might have a new friend in the Sooners.
Former Bulldog Devonte Wyatt signed a massive contract extension with the Green Bay Packers
Breaking news, Georgia's defenses on their two National Championship teams were really good. Everyone knew that in the moment, but every so often a Bulldog on those defenses reminds everyone just how good they were by signing a massive contract extension in the NFL.
This time it was Devonte Wyatt's turn as he signed a 3-year $57 million extension with the Green Bay Packers on Monday.
Wyatt was a key member of Georgia's 2021 defense as he racked up six tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. He then went on to be drafted 28th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers and has continued in his dominant ways.
So far in his NFL career he has totaled 101 tackles, 16 sacks, one forced fumble and three fumble recoveries during his four seasons. His production has clearly been good enough for Green Bay as they extended their former first round pick and gave him a nice $20 million signing bonus as well.

Vegas for the third year in a row is predicting Texas will win the SEC. Georgia proved them wrong each of the last two years, but oddsmakers are once again siding with the Longhorns entering this season.
247Sports reporters though have other ideas as they just voted Georgia as the most likely team to win the SEC, and that is an honor that no one saw coming.
Texas continues to be the team that receives the most hype overall, and in all honestly that probably doesn't bother anyone in the Georgia football buildings. But it does feel a little nice to finally get some respect from those that cover the sport for a living.
