The FSU Seminoles have added another left-handed hitter out of the transfer portal, securing a commitment from Texas Longhorns infield transfer Callum Early.
Early played in just 11 games at Texas, going 0-5 at the plate with two strikeouts and a hit-by-pitch. He spent his freshman season at Liberty, playing in 33 games with 28 starts.
The Midlothian, Virginia native hit .295 with 23 runs scored, six doubles, two home runs and 15 RBI for the Flames. He recorded a .427 on-base percentage and .410 slugging percentage. He had 22 walks and 25 strikeouts, stealing three baes.
His addition gives FSU another infielder who can hit from the left side and helps shore up their depth at multiple spots. The 6-foot, 190-pounder had a .972 fielding percentage at Liberty, making just three errors.
He will have three seasons of eligibility with the Seminoles and will be eligible for the 2027 MLB Draft. He is the younger brother of Boston Red Sox pitcher Connelly Early.
He is the ninth transfer that FSU has added this offseason and the third infielder. They have also landed first baseman Nick Barron and shortstop Cooper Malamazian, who are both expected to start in 2027.
