Former NFL head coach turned lead ESPN Analyst decided to weigh in again on the Cleveland Browns quarterback situation.
Ryan was famously not the biggest fan of former quarterback Baker Mayfield and is definitely not a fan of current quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Well, only half of Shedeur Sanders.
Last week, Sanders posted a photoshoot that he and his brothers put together in the backyard of his house. It was Shedeur standing on a red carpet of just his 12 jerseys. The pictures that came out of it were pretty cool, but as everyone always does with Sanders, they had an opinion.
Was it pretty egotistical of Sanders? Sure. Was it harmful, cocky, or a big deal? Absolutely not.

Former NFL head coach Rex Ryan took to X to give his opinion on the situation. He said, "Get a load of this kid… Great talent needs to realize as a “franchise” QB there has to be more we than me… Cmon man…"
This was, mind you, on the same day that Sanders was down in Miami working out with fellow quarterback Deshaun Watson and all of the Browns' wide receivers and one day before Sanders hosted more than 500 Cleveland kids, for free, for a youth camp in the city.
Ryan decided to comment on only one of those situations, and of course it was the negative one.
Sanders is in a very important spot next season. He has to perform or else his time in Cleveland is going to be ticking away quickly. His rookie season, truthfully, wasn't the best. He showed that he has some of the intangibles to be a player in this league, but he has to clean up a lot.
However, the situation that he has to compete here honestly couldn't be better. He is getting a fresh start with a coach that wanted to draft him last year and believes in him.
He is set up to have success, and from all accounts, he has been working his tail off all offseason to make it happen. There is a chance that he makes it happen and proves to be the quarterback of the future. If it happens, great. If it doesn't happen, the Browns will have another high draft pick and will be selecting a quarterback next April.
One thing that is definitely not going to hurt his chances is taking a couple of pictures in his backyard on July 18th.
