(KRON) — The Little Fire burning in Sunol has exploded to 700 acres and has forced evacuation orders. The fire is also sending smoke and ash throughout parts of the East Bay,
The evacuation orders have been issued for Zones ALC-072, PLS-080, PLS-081 and PLS 103. There is an interactive evacuation map available here. Evacuation warnings have also been issued for Zones PLS-082 and PLS-079.
The Little Fire is burning near Vallecitos Road and Little Valley Road in Sunol.
It appears there are several homes nearby on Little Valley Rd.
A fire official tells KRON4 the biggest challenge currently is the heat. As of 4 p.m. the temperature in Sunol remained above 90 degrees.
Five tankers, three helicopters and multiple ground resources have been deployed.
The fire is visible on the ALERT California Wildfire camera network, from the Sunol Ridge camera.
