Fallout fans remaking the original Fallout 3 aren't concerned by the official remaster

Fallout Fans Remaking The Original Fallout 3 Aren't Concerned By The Official Remaster

Fallout fans attempting to remake Fallout 3 in Fallout 4's style have reacted to Bethesda's official confirmation of the remasters.

Last week, after many, many rumors had already made their way into every nook and cranny of the internet, Bethesda finally confirmed that remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas are actually happening and currently in the works.

It’s been a big couple of weeks for Fallout fans, and an even bigger one for a group of people currently working on a project called Fallout 4: Capital Wasteland, which is attempting to remake Fallout 3 in Fallout 4’s engine.

You’d have assumed that any official attempts to remaster Fallout 3 would have put a kibosh on any fans trying to do it, and there were people worried about what the Fallout 4: Capital Wasteland team would think, but, thankfully, these modders have a bit more grit and determination.

Fallout Modders Aren't Disheartened By Remaster Announcements

In a statement posted to the project’s official Twitter account, the team says that they are actually very excited to see an official Fallout 3 remaster, but assured those following that development will continue regardless of what Bethesda is doing.

“The F4CW Team is incredibly excited to see Fallout 3 officially receiving a remaster, and we can't wait to see what they have in store,” reads the statement.

“That said, we'd also like to reassure our community that F4CW is continuing development. Our project has been a community-driven passion project for almost a full decade now, and we're committed to seeing that our work, creativity and dedication continue!”

Of course, it’s fairly natural for these people to be excited, as one would imagine that you’d have to be a pretty big Fallout fan to try and remake one of the games yourselves, but it’s good to see that the official remaster hasn't dampened any enthusiasm.

In fact, it’s quite a similar situation to the Skybilivion team, that is attempting to remake Oblivion in the Skyrim engine. We also know that Oblivion Remastered was pretty buggy, so it’s always good to have another option on the back burner just in case Bethesda decides to do another Bethesda and make the same mistake with Fallout 3 or New Vegas.
