You can always count on Chelsea to be busy in the transfer window and it’ll come as no surprise that they’ve already lined up numerous deals this summer.
Chelsea are preparing for a new era after appointing Xabi Alonso as their manager on the back of a disappointing season that culminated in them finishing 10th in the Premier League.
A number of pre-arranged signings will officially go through this summer at Stamford Bridge and more work is likely to be done on the squad Alonso has inherited.
Here, we’re keeping track of every signing Chelsea make this summer and every player leaving.
Chelsea signings
Morgan Rogers
- From: Aston Villa
- Fee: £117m
- Position: Attacking midfielder
- Age: 23
Chelsea have made Rogers the most expensive English footballer in history after breaking their transfer record to sign him from Aston Villa for £117m.
Rogers has signed a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge after a productive two and a half years with Villa.
Chelsea beat Arsenal to a deal for Rogers, who has already exclaimed: “For me, Chelsea are the biggest club in London and a club I’ve always admired since I was a kid.
“I’m really excited about the project with the new manager, the players we’ve got and where the club is heading. That’s why I’m here and I can’t wait to get started.”
Marco Palestra
- From: Atalanta
- Fee: £47m
- Position: Right-back
- Age: 21
Palestra’s efforts on loan at Cagliari from Atalanta last season saw him named the best defender in Serie A.
Chelsea have jumped on the chance to offer him the next step, securing him to a contract until 2033.
“I’m very excited to get started,” the Italian said. “I’ve felt the energy since the first day Chelsea wanted me. I can’t wait to start, see all the fans, my team-mates and the manager.”
Geovany Quenda
- From: Sporting CP
- Fee: £43m
- Position: Winger
- Age: 19
The wait is over for Chelsea to welcome Quenda to their squad after agreeing to sign him from Sporting back in March 2025.
Able to play as a winger or wing-back on the right-hand side, Quenda made 86 appearances for Sporting and scored nine goals.
It’s believed Quenda’s contract at Stamford Bridge will last for seven years.
Denner
- From: Corinthians
- Fee: £8.25m
- Position: Defender
- Age: 18
The latest Brazilian teenager to be acquired by Chelsea, Denner is the cousin of Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes.
Chelsea pre-agreed to sign him in January 2025 and are now able to complete the deal after he turned 18 in February.
Denner hasn’t made his senior debut for Corinthians and isn’t likely to be a first-team player straight away for Chelsea.
Emmanuel Emegha
- From: Strasbourg
- Fee: £22m
- Position: Striker
- Age: 23
Chelsea have made use of their BlueCo network to sign Dutch striker Emegha from Strasbourg, where he was captain.
Emegha’s move was arranged in advance back in September 2025. However, he endured an injury-hit last season with Strasbourg, only starting four Ligue 1 games.
He still managed to score four goals, but whether he’ll be good enough to become a regular starter for Chelsea – especially when Joao Pedro had a solid debut season with the club – remains to be seen.
Dastan Satpaev
- From: Kairat
- Fee: £3.3m
- Position: Striker
- Age: 17
Satpaev will formally complete his move to Chelsea when he turns 18 in August, with the deal having been pre-arranged as far back as February 2025.
Already capped multiple times by Kazakhstan, he has come through the ranks at Kairat, where he has been wearing the number 10 shirt and has more than 20 goals to his name.
Chelsea exits
Andrey Santos
- To: Manchester United
- Fee: £48m
- Position: Midfielder
- Age: 22
After effectively just one season in the first team with Chelsea, Santos has been sold to Man Utd in a deal worth £48m, rising to £50m.
Santos played 47 times for Chelsea and scored three goals. His time on their books also included loan spells with Nottingham Forest and Strasbourg.
Tyrique George
- To: Everton
- Fee: £18m
- Position: Winger
- Age: 20
Everton didn’t use their option to buy George for £25m after his loan spell from Chelsea, but the two clubs compromised on a new deal.
Chelsea have sold the winger for an initial £18m, which could rise to £24m with add-ons.
George only managed to make 11 appearances on loan for Everton but has now signed a four-year contract there.
Jesse Derry
- To: Sporting CP
- Fee: Loan
- Position: Winger
- Age: 19
Derry signed a six-year contract with Chelsea before heading out to Portugal to sign for Sporting on loan.
The winger, who joined Chelsea’s academy from Crystal Palace last summer, has three first-team appearances for the Blues to his name so far, so will be hoping he can gain more experience in Lisbon.
Marc Cucurella
- To: Real Madrid
- Fee: £51.8m
- Position: Left-back
- Age: 27
After four seasons with Chelsea, Cucurella is returning to his native Spain after agreeing to join Real Madrid once his World Cup duties are over.
Chelsea will bank almost £52m from the sale, with Cucurella departing after 163 appearances for the club.
Although he came through the ranks at Barcelona, Real Madrid will be his next destination, allowing him to link up with Jose Mourinho.
Cucurella has played in the Spanish capital before, spending time with Getafe before he came to the Premier League with Brighton.
What we’re expecting at Chelsea
Where to start? Chelsea are usually one of the big spenders in the transfer market and after finishing 10th, you can’t envisage them sitting around idly while their rivals strengthen.
Defence appears to be an area to strengthen, with Maxence Lacroix among their centre-back options. At left-back, meanwhile, they have held talks for Rayo Vallecano’s Pep Chavarria.
Chelsea have also been underwhelmed by the wingers they brought in last summer and could benefit from finding upgrades.
They also have a decision to make about their goalkeeping department, where Filip Jorgensen is unsettled and Mike Penders is due to return from his loan spell at Strasbourg.
Expect more movement between the two BlueCo clubs this summer, by the way. For example, former Brighton left-back Valentin Barco – now more of a midfielder – is believed to be set for a move to Stamford Bridge, and midfielder Julio Enciso – another ex-Seagull – could follow him.
Elsewhere, Chelsea have pursued Sunderland captain Granit Xhaka for a reunion with Xabi Alonso, but couldn’t agree a fee and are now standing back.
There could be some big developments on the exits front, meanwhile. Enzo Fernandez’s future continues to be cast into doubt, for example, with a move to Real Madrid frequently floated.
Malo Gusto could be another candidate for sale now Palestra has arrived, with Enzo Maresca linked with offering him a reunion at Manchester City.
Alejandro Garnacho has been attracting interest from Italy, but Aston Villa are now in talks to take him.
