Nearly a year after Charlie Kirk’s death, Erika Kirk has reportedly found herself wrestling with two emotions she never expected to experience at the same time.

One surfaced inside a Utah courtroom, where she came face-to-face with the man accused of killing her husband. The other has been directed toward Candace Owens, whom she once considered part of Charlie’s political circle.

According to people close to Erika, those two encounters have produced vastly different reactions, revealing just how complicated the months since Charlie’s death have become.

Erika Kirk reportedly spent days preparing herself for one of the most difficult moments of her life: seeing Tyler Robinson, the 23-year-old accused in her husband’s killing, inside a Utah courtroom.

Friends say she expected the encounter to be fueled by anger, but the emotions that followed surprised even her.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, a family friend said the 37-year-old repeatedly expressed uncertainty about how she would react.

“She was really concerned about being in the same room as him [Robinson], she didn’t know what she was going to feel, she said that a lot,” the insider told the outlet.

Instead of the hatred she anticipated, the source claimed the meeting left her overwhelmed with grief. According to them, Erika reportedly expected to hate Robinson, but she felt sad.

The same insider revealed that sadness wasn’t limited to Robinson alone as Erika also felt sympathy for his loved ones, believing the tragedy devastated more than one family.

Erika’s Relationship With Candace Owens Appears Beyond Repair

While Erika Kirk’s reported reaction to Robinson surprised those around her, family members say her feelings toward Owens could not be more different.

Owens, who was once closely associated with Charlie Kirk through Turning Point USA, has publicly questioned Robinson’s alleged role in the killing while making additional claims about the circumstances surrounding Charlie’s death.

She has also suggested that people connected to Turning Point USA, including Erika, may have had greater knowledge of what happened, allegations for which she has not publicly provided evidence.

According to one Kirk family member, those comments have left Erika with no interest in repairing the relationship.

“Erika can’t stand her [Candace]. She calls her ‘that b-tch’ if she talks about her at all,” the relative said, adding, “Erika thinks she’s the worst, most unkind person in the world. Ugly person, inside and out. She’s a soulless ghoul.”

The source noted that the two women did attempt to mend fences during a private meeting in Nashville last December, arranged by former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly.

Although both later described the conversation as “productive,” any goodwill reportedly faded in the months that followed.

Erika Kirk Believes Candace Owens Crossed A Line

According to those close to the Kirk family, tensions escalated after Owens released her eight-part “Bride of Charlie” series, which shifted its focus from the activist’s death to Erika’s personal life, including her upbringing, marriage, and family.

Family members say the series eliminated any possibility of future reconciliation. “That bridge is burned, it’s more than burned. It’s been blown up. There’s no reason for Erika to ever speak to Candace again. Ever,” one relative said.

The same source claimed Erika believes Owens has turned the tragedy into part of her public persona.

“Candace decided to make this her identity. It’s a grab for attention, building her name and her brand, and making some money off it. That’s what Erika thinks,” they shared.

According to the family member, that belief has been one of the most painful aspects of the public fallout. In their words, “Erika is really offended that Candace would use her husband’s death to make a buck, to get attention, get clout, whatever it is. She’s offended.”

Owens Escalated The Feud By Revisiting Erika’s Marriage

Months after debuting her “Bride of Charlie” series, Owens made Erika Kirk the focus of repeated public criticism again by questioning the authenticity of her marriage to Charlie.

During a June episode of her “Candace” podcast, she said she no longer believed the couple’s relationship had been genuine, stating per The Blast, “I do not believe, and I want to be clear here, that his relationship with Erika Kirk was ever real. I am firm on that now.”

Owens noted that her view had changed after what she described as months of reviewing publicly available material and speaking with sources.

She argued that she believed there were inconsistencies surrounding the couple’s relationship and said she allegedly explored those claims further in her series.

Candace Owens Questions Erika Kirk’s Honorary Degree From Hillsdale College

In May, Owens expanded her criticism of Erika after the Turning Point USA CEO received an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree from Hillsdale College during the school’s commencement ceremony.

On an episode of “The Candace Owens Show,” the 37-year-old questioned why the conservative institution chose to honor Erika.

She argued that honorary doctorates were typically awarded to individuals with significant accomplishments rather than simply serving as commencement speakers.

Owens also echoed a viral social media post suggesting Erika’s recognition stemmed from her marriage to Charlie instead of her own credentials, describing that argument as at least partly valid.

The political commentator later reviewed what she described as Erika’s résumé on her YouTube channel, saying she could not identify the specific achievements that justified the award.

Boxing star Hannah Rapp was killed while biking after boyfriend made perfectly innocent gesture at reckless driver: cops

It’s a gesture that any cyclist has probably made at a car that veered too close — and cops say it cost boxing star Hannah Rapp her life. Rapp, 26, an up-and-coming featherweight fighter, was cycling along a two-lane highway, FM 159, in Brazos County, Texas, on Saturday, when investigators say 31-year-old Charles Medina overtook her and her boyfriend Will Pollalis in his car with just a foot to spare.
