Emily Mackay to compete among USATF's biggest names in NYC

NEW YORK – Binghamton University alum and Olympic track star Emily Mackay is stepping back onto the national stage at this year’s Toyota USA Track and Field Outdoor and Para Championships at Icahn Stadium.

Known to garner the country’s deepest collection of Olympic and world-class talent, the USATF Outdoor Championships will be showcasing some of the biggest names in the sport in the Big Apple – a first for the competition since appearing at Downing Stadium in 1991.

Mackay and other athletes familiar with the New York scene, such as Olympic 400-meter hurdles champion Rai Benjamin and NACAC hammer throw record-holder Rudy Winkler, have the potential to build an even larger New York fan base.

Other headliners competing include sprint stars Sha’Carri Richardson and Noah Lyles, Olympic long jump champion Tara Davis-Woodhall, Paralympic gold medalist Hunter Woodhall, and 800m World champion Cooper Lutkenhaus, who became the youngest individual world champion in track and field history back in March.

Fans can look to follow Mackay in the 1,500m and 5,000m events and other New York stars starting on Thursday, July 23, with the competition’s final rounds beginning from Thursday night through to Sunday, July 26.

How to watch

The 2026 USA Track and Field Championships will be broadcast on NBC and NBCSN, with full-length broadcasts being streamed on Peacock and USATF.tv.
