If you’re among the gamers who have been unable to enjoy online Clubs matches in EA FC 26, there’s some good news and some bad news in the latest updates from EA Sports FC Direct Communication.

The good news is that there has now been official acknowledgment from EA about the problems, which will be a welcome relief to gamers who have been flooding online message boards to vent their frustration not just at the issue, but at EA’s seeming disinterest in providing information on a fix for gamers experiencing it. The news arrives via an update and a post on the official EASFCDirect X account:

The announcement notes that the problems gamers have been experiencing were the result of an issue introduced with Update 1.6.4, which EA then attempted to update with an emergency Update 1.6.5. As noted on the official EASFC Tracker on Trello:

EA SPORTS FC 26 version 1.6.5 is now live and includes the updates below.

Clubs

Addressed the following issue:

Addressed instances where an error would be received when attempting to play an online match.

Unfortunately, as noted in the X post, this update itself introduced a new potential bug, which EA is now aware of. This means that gamers looking to jump into Clubs may still experience difficulties at present as EA works to resolve the new issue identified. EA expects to have a fix for the problem live within the week, and upon its successful remedy, will be granting all EA FC players a free Archetype progression as compensation for the time offline.
