The popular streamer N3on recently broke a cardinal rule of Lucha Libre by filming Penta without his mask, and Dominick Mysterio let his feelings for N3on be known with a simple hand gesture.
The controversy for N3on started when he was streaming on Kick live backstage during day one of Fanatics Fest in New York City. When he spotted Stephanie Vaquer, he turned to approach the WWE star when the camera briefly captured Penta. The Intercontinental Champion was wearing his trademark partial face paint, but his mask could be seen on a nearby table.
Though Penta asked N3on to delete the recording, the stream was live for viewers and has since been clipped for social media. Cageside Seats will not be sharing the footage.
In another video, N3on can be seen speaking to a member of security near the WWE booth on day two of Fanatic Fest, and he’s informed that he’s been barred from filming due to the incident involving Penta. For his part, N3on did express remorse on-camera and offered a direct apology to Penta.
“I just wanted to apologize. It was a clear misunderstanding. They told him that he could take the mask off in that area, and they told me I could stream in that area, and it just splashed, and s**t happened,” N3on said. “It was never my intention to anger you on purpose. I’m sorry.”
Surprisingly, N3on decided to still attend Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18 after the incident was made aware to fans. Perhaps even more surprising, WWE acknowledged his attendance, which resulted in fans showering him with boos.
Later in the evening, Dominick Mysterio also showed N3on how he felt about him. While standing ringside for JD McDonagh’s match against Danhausen, Dirty Dom was caught by cameras flipping off N3on.
