Even in the midst of a transition, the Miami Dolphins made sure to keep one of their most productive players from 2025 around moving forward. On Tuesday, the Dolphins and linebacker Jordyn Brooks agreed to a new contract.
Brooks becomes the sixth-highest paid linebacker in the NFL with a deal that's worth up to $51.3 million for three more years, as reported by ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques and Adam Schefter.

The 28-year-old Brooks is coming off earning All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors for the first time in 2025. He fell just one lone tackle away from matching his career-high in 2025. He recorded 183 total tackles with 99 credited as solo, 3.5 sacks, three pass deflections, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery last season, his second with the Dolphins.

Locking up Brooks was part of the Dolphins' advertised offseason plan. In fact, first-year general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan vocalized Brooks as being one of three identified "pillars" of the franchise. He made it clear Miami's goal was to award those players - running back De'Von Achane, center Aaron Brewer and Brooks - with extensions at some point before kicking off the 2026 season.

And in keeping to Sullivan's word and promise, Achane signed a four-year extension in May and then Brewer inked a three-year deal of his own in June. Brooks' contract now completes that mission with over a week's worth of time left to spare before the start of training camp.
Brooks, a Texas Tech product, who was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, spent the first four seasons of his professional career in Seattle before signing with Miami as a free agent in 2024. He's racked up 839 combined tackles, 13 sacks and 47 tackle for a loss over the course of playing in 97 games across six years.
