Disney's appetite for reviving its own history shows no sign of slowing down. The past few years alone have brought back Phineas and Ferb and The Proud Family, along with Percy Jackson-themed nostalgic projects across Disney+. On the preschool side, a revival of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse premiered on Disney Jr. and Disney+ as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+ in July 2025. But the company's latest revival is arguably its most interesting yet — its track record for launching future superstars is unmatched anywhere in television.
Disney+ has ordered a pilot for a new Mickey Mouse Club series, with production starting this month in Los Angeles, according to Deadline. The project comes from Fulwell Entertainment, the company co-founded by Ben Winston that produces Hulu's The Kardashians. Disney describes the show as a "showcase for today's most talented young performers, where music, innovation, and self-expression take center stage." The pilot has already assembled its new class of 11 Mouseketeers. Notably, three of them, Hudson Stone, Casey Trotter, and Brooklynn Pitts, are already part of Disney projects through the upcoming Camp Rock 3.
Signs of the revival had floated around for a while, as an open casting call for an untitled series seeking performers between the ages of 10 and 16 was reported back in 2024. A 2017 revival called Club Mickey Mouse featured eight young performers, but it wasn't a television show and instead ran on Instagram and Facebook. It never produced a breakout on the level of its predecessors.
No Disney Property Has a Better Track Record of Discovering Stars
The Mickey Mouse Club began as a stage concept in the 1920s and was later brought to television by Walt Disney, premiering on ABC in 1955. At that point, Disney was still new to TV, and shows like The Mickey Mouse Club and Disneyland were closely tied to the company’s wider plans, including the rollout of the Disneyland park. A 1977 syndicated reboot introduced future Facts of Life star Lisa Whelchel, but it was the Disney Channel era from 1989 to 1996 that turned the show into legend.
That iteration helped launch the careers of Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Ryan Gosling, Justin Timberlake, Keri Russell, N*SYNC’s JC Chasez, and several other future stars. So, if any dormant Disney brand justifies another shot, it's probably the one that gave the world Britney and Gosling in the same cast photo. For now, though, Disney+ has only ordered a pilot, and a full series is not guaranteed.
