MANISTEE — Right to Life of Manistee County is hosting its annual benefit dinner in August.
The Focus on Life 2026 Annual Benefit Dinner is set for Aug. 10 at St. Joseph Parish Center, located at 249 Sixth St. in Manistee. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner and the program starting at 6 p.m.
The guest speaker is Genevieve Marnon, legislative director and senior policy adviser for Right to Life of Michigan.
Marnon works with legislators, policy staff and stakeholders to negotiate bills and implement pro-life policies in the state. Her legislative work consists of proposing bills and amendments, testifying in committee and helping legislators with messaging around pro-life bills, according to a flyer for the event.
In addition to legislative work, Marnon assists with Right to Life of Michigan’s legal advocacy and supports the nonprofit’s media outreach through interviews, news stories and speeches.
She has been featured on the Teresa Tomeo Show, Michigan Public Radio and in several news stories.
Marnon began working for Right to Life of Michigan in 2012 and was involved in the successful passage of several pro-life laws including clinic licensing, the Coercive Abortion Prevention Act and the Abortion Insurance Opt-Out Act.
Prior to working for Right to Life of Michigan, Marnon worked in financial planning and as an educator in both public and private schools.
Marnon holds a bachelor’s degree from Oakland University. She and her husband Mark have three children and six grandchildren.
During the event, Marnon will provide an update on the status of issues such as chemical abortion and attempts at legalizing assisted suicide in Michigan.
