Daredevil: Born Again season 3's latest update points to a major Marvel reveal

'The Defenders' Season 2 Is Finally Happening, but There's a Catch
‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 3’s Latest Update Points to a Major Marvel Reveal

The next season of Daredevil: Born Again is done filming, and a reveal at New York Comic Con could build momentum.

It took a while for Marvel Television to find its groove on Disney+, but it's clear that Daredevil: Born Againis a large part of its recent success. Not only did Born Again bring back Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, but it's also slowly resurrecting the gritty drama that defined Marvel's Netflix era. Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again even shook up the dynamic between Murdock and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio), with Fisk losing his position as mayor of New York and Murdock being arrested after revealing he was Daredevil. Fans have been eagerly waiting for news about Season 3, and the latest update should make them very happy.

New reports indicate that Season 3 has wrapped filming, with cast and crew sharing images of the wrap party on social media. That means that Daredevil: Born Again is on track to hit its release date of March 2027, which would continue its yearly release tradition. It also raises the question: when will fans see the first footage of Season 3? Some might point to this week, as San Diego Comic-Con is slated to feature a Marvel Studios panel on Saturday. However, there's another major fan event that would be the perfect place to debut Daredevil: Born Again, and that's New York Comic Con.

New York Comic Con Is The Perfect Place to Debut 'Daredevil: Born Again' Season 3

Next to SDCC, New York Comic Con is arguably one of the biggest pop culture events of the year. It's also been a major hub for Marvel news, which is fitting given that most of Marvel's heroes call New York home. In Daredevil's case, the event is held right in the heart of Hell's Kitchen, meaning that it would be the perfect time to debut news about Daredevil: Born Again Season 3. There's also the timing to consider, as Marvel will no doubt want the SDCC news to focus on Avengers: Doomsday; having Daredevil: Born Again drop Season 3 news and a potential trailer closer to the end of the year means that it'll get the right amount of focus.

There's also a major shift that could reshape how New York Comic Con and other fan events play into Marvel's schedule. Last week, Marvel Comics dropped the bombshell news that it was relocating its offices from New York to Los Angeles, in addition to naming a new editor-in-chief in Stephen Wacker. Most fans were shocked by the news, given how intrinsic New York is to the Marvel Universe, but Brad Winderbaum — who's taking a major role in Marvel Comics alongside his roles at Marvel Television and Marvel Animation — was quick to ease fan fears:

"New York has played a huge part in who Marvel is as a company, and in the pages of our comics. While our network of writers and artists is now an international operation, New York is still woven into our DNA and that will never change. Our colleagues in New York have helped shape generations of stories and characters, and their contributions to Marvel’s legacy cannot be overstated."

Another Major Marvel Release Might Have Ties to 'Daredevil: Born Again'

While fans wait for Daredevil: Born Again to make its return, some have speculated that the Man Without Fear is slated to appear in another Marvel Studios project. Spider-Man: Brand New Dayhas sown plenty of seeds for a potential Daredevil appearance; not only is Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) playing a major role in the movie, but trailers have shown Peter Parker (Tom Holland) doing battle with the Hand, who are some of Daredevil's biggest foes. Spidey's even shown to be battling the Hand in a prison, which all but hints that Matt Murdock will make an appearance.

If Daredevil shows up in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Marvel Television should piggyback on that momentum and release news about Season 3 at New York Comic-Con. The series has reignited interest in Marvel Television, so it's only fitting that it would do the same for Marvel movies.
