Danhausen’s money dispute pushes Judgment Day toward SummerSlam

A storyline built around Danhausen and a suitcase of supposedly stolen money became one of WWE Raw’s most productive pieces of SummerSlam preparation.

The dispute with Judgment Day led to an impromptu Oba Femi match, helped Joe Hendry defeat Dominik and ended with WWE confirming Danhausen against Mysterio for SummerSlam. The segments mixed comedy with interference, but every development served a defined purpose beyond the money itself.

The fake money creates real consequences

Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh and Liv Morgan confronted him after demanding the return of $100,000. He brought a suitcase to the ring but suggested giving the money to the audience rather than surrendering it.

Judgment Day attacked him before Joe Hendry made the save, although Morgan escaped with the case. The group later discovered that the money was fake.

When McDonagh threw the suitcase away during the ensuing backstage confrontation, it struck Oba Femi. Raw general manager Adam Pearce responded by booking Femi against McDonagh.

The match lasted less than one minute. Femi removed Dominik from the equation, hit McDonagh with the Fall From Grace and secured a dominant victory. WWE’s official results presented the squash as another step toward Femi’s Hell in a Cell match against Brock Lesnar.

Danhausen changes Hendry’s match

Judgment Day’s numerical advantage also shaped Hendry’s non-title match against Dominik.

Morgan attacked Hendry outside the ring and prevented Danhausen from helping. Danhaussen later returned with Iyo Sky, who fought Morgan and removed her from the immediate finish.

With the referee distracted, Danhaussen hit Dominik with his finishing move. Hendry then made the cover and defeated the AAA Mega Champion.

The interference meant Hendry did not defeat Dominik independently. The booking instead kept the focus on the wider numbers game involving Danhaussen, Morgan, Sky and Judgment Day.

Why Danhausen versus Mysterio makes sense

WWE confirmed Danhaussen against Mysterio for SummerSlam after the match. The announcement gives the money dispute a direct destination rather than allowing it to remain a series of disconnected comedy segments.

Danhaussen has now repeatedly disrupted Judgment Day without defeating Mysterio himself. His interference cost Dominik the match against Hendry, while Mysterio’s group had previously pursued Danhausen over the missing money.

That creates a straightforward SummerSlam question: can Danhausen beat Mysterio when the conflict becomes a singles match?

The Raw storyline also advanced other scheduled programs without shifting attention away from Danhausen. Sky’s confrontation with Morgan reinforced their Women’s World Championship rivalry, while Femi received an emphatic victory before facing Lesnar.
