The debate over Dak Prescott and Jalen Hurts has divided the NFL, especially the NFC East. While Hurts owns a Super Bowl title and Prescott has delivered impressive regular-season numbers, comparisons between the two quarterbacks continue on social media.
Dallas Cowboys podcaster Dan Rogers defended Dak Prescott against his critics. He argued that Prescott’s statistical production has often been overlooked despite the backlash he has received throughout his career.
“He still threw for more TDs, yards, and had a total QB rating higher than Jalen Hurts ever did in a season. EVER. Even in “disgrace,” Dak’s still better than Jalen,” wrote podcaster Dan Rogers on X.
Through his X post, Rogers was replying to an Eagles podcaster, Lord Brunson, who took a jab at Prescott first.
“Lmaooooooo Dak disgraced the franchise,” Brunson wrote.
Prescott has delivered multiple high-volume passing seasons, including four seasons with 4,400+ passing yards and 30+ touchdowns.
But even when Prescott has been performing at his best, the Cowboys haven’t even made a deep postseason run, let alone won a Super Bowl.
Meanwhile, Hurts has taken the Eagles to two Super Bowl appearances in three years. And they won one of them against the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2024 season.
However, in all fairness, the reason Dallas could not reach the big game or even the playoffs is its defense. While the offense excelled by ranking second in total yards and seventh in points scored, the defense finished dead last in points allowed and 30th in total yards.
However, with expectations soaring in Dallas, Prescott acknowledged that anything short of a championship would fall below the standard the team has set for itself.

Dallas is entering 2026 with one of the league’s most talented lineups, and Prescott believes the team has learned a valuable lesson from last year’s shortcomings.
“That’s the one thing I love about the Cowboys nation and being a player of the Cowboys is, it’s Super Bowl or bust,” Prescott said at a virtual meet-and-greet, per Tommy Yarrish of Dallascowboys.com.
“And truthfully, that’s the only reason you play this game. And so if that’s not your mindset, if that’s not your mindset as a fan, then to me, you don’t have the right passion. You’re not a true winner. So absolutely, we’re working every day for it.”
Prescott knows the pressure is higher than ever. With an experienced roster and championship goals, the Cowboys are embracing a Super Bowl-or-Bust mentality, leaving little room for excuses, as they get ready to chase the franchise’s first Lombardi Trophy since the 1995 season.
