Coronation Street actor Sean Wilson is a married man.
The 61-year-old, best known for his role as Martin Platt in the ITV soap, has married his longtime love, Carol, in an idyllic countryside wedding.
In photos shared on Facebook, Sean sported a dark blue suit and an orange waistcoat, while his bride, Carol, wowed in a white wedding gown.
Carol wore a figure-hugging gown, with a square neckline. She swept her blonde locks into an updo, letting her bangs frame her face in neat waves.
The bride carried a bouquet of summery flowers, notably sunflowers for a pop of colour. Another photo of the newlyweds shows them kissing outside of the church.
Sean and Carol, who have been together since 2019, were seen beaming from ear to ear as they sat in the back of a cream vintage car.
Expressing his happiness, Sean wrote: 'Guess what we did this weekend… a July wedding. Brought me my gorgeous Mrs Wilson…
'We had a gospel choir, and a church full of legendary (real) friends… If we did it all again, it couldn't be better. Xxx.'
Sean was a stalwart of Coronation Street from 1985 to 2005. He returned for a brief cameo in 2018.
In 2024, he was set to return to Corrie as Martin Platt to reunite with his on-screen wife Helen Worth for her character, Gail Platt's, departure from the show.
However, the storyline was scrapped because of an unfounded sexual assault claim against him. In January 2025, he was quoted as saying: 'I didn't watch it. I was away in Africa for Christmas. I'm trying to get back to normal. It's a case of taking each day at a time.'
The actor shared his hope that the circumstances surrounding his sudden Corrie exit don't have an adverse effect on his acting career going forward.
'We are hoping everything that's happened won't affect my career. My agent and I are working hard on trying to create a continuing stream of work. We are trying to find our feet again,' he said.
'I'm not the one levering any situation. I'm an actor, and if people come and knock on my agent's door, I listen to them.'
