Conor McGregor reveals the possible return timeframe.

Conor McGregor made many fans upset with his recent 1st round TKO/KO defeat against Max Holloway at UFC 329. He promised a blockbuster comeback, but the reality failed to live up with the expectations created. After a few days of doubts, some light has been shed on the injury that forced the referee to call a stoppage.

According to Conor McGregor it was a torn ACL and meniscus. He foresees returning next summer in 2027 against Max Holloway for a trilogy.

Conor McGregor’s Update

The fans were eagerly looking forward to some action but to their greatest disappointment the fight ended sooner than anticipated. In a recent tweet, the Irish fighter shed some light on his upsetting comeback fight and addressed the possible timeline of his return.

“Update: It was acl and meniscus. It is the same injury as the first Holloway fight, only this time the opposite leg. Quite shocking. I returned to competition within 9 months to fight Diego Brandao back then. With today’s regenerative medicine advancements and improved training methods it is well within my realm to return by next summer".

Dustin Poirier recently took the time to call out McGregor to fulfil their 4th fight. It will be interesting to see if they ever collide in the near future.

Dana White isn’t even thinking about McGregor’s return, he wishes him a speedy recovery and will make decision only after hearing about his readiness to return.
