Chelsea Green reveals the creative way in which Matt Cardona hid her engagement ring.
On April 4, 2019, Matt Cardona proposed to his future wife Chelsea Green amidst a sea of lights in New York City. According to Green, the proposal itself didn’t come as a surprise. However, the lengths at which Cardona went to keep the engagement ring hidden did.
"Leading into our engagement, Matt put the engagement ring in Undertaker's casket,” Green recalled on season three of WWE Unreal. “He carried this mini toy casket with him to New York to propose to me in New York with because he knew damn well that anything to do with a toy, I don't care about. So I never looked in there.
"I was really trying to figure out when he was going to propose to me, how he was going to do it. But I had no idea he had that ring with us in the hotel room in that Undertaker casket. It was so good, I'll give him props for that."
Green said yes to Cardona’s proposal, which came just days before he and Curt Hawkins (also known as Brian Myers) captured the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 35. The couple later married on December 31, 2021.
In the present day, Cardona and Green both reside as members of the WWE SmackDown brand, with the former marking his return to WWE in January 2026. Green did the same in January 2023.
