The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Virginia Tech will host fellowship programs for military officials.

Earlier this year, Hegseth ended programs with Harvard and several other Ivy League schools over concerns about their "woke" policies.

UNC-Chapel Hill chancellor Lee H. Roberts confirmed his university's participation in the revised, 10-month program, saying "[t]he program fits well within the context of our mission of service, and we take tremendous pride in our deep, longstanding relationship with the United States military," according to The Hill.

Earlier this year, Hegseth indicated much of his concerns lay with social justice curricula at top universities, indicating that the Pentagon wanted to ensure civics education and instruction on American history.

We demand that senior service colleges work to sharpen our war fighters on genuine national security issues, not social justice activism," Hegseth said at the time. "We demand curriculums grounded in the founding principles of this republic, principles that champion the enduring ideals of peace through strength and putting American interests first.
