Chainsaw Man is a series full of mighty and imposing characters, each capable of incredible feats that have widely impressed audiences since the original manga's debut. From the strongest Devils having absolute control over reality itself to the determined hunters who risked their lives to keep humanity safe from danger, there is a fighter that will satisfy even the most critical of fans.
Among them, Asa stands out as an oddity even in this surreal world, being the host of an overwhelmingly powerful entity, the War Devil, but not having complete control over its abilities. As such, while undeniably a strong opponent, there is a clear upper limit as to who she could beat in a battle on her own, without having to rely on Yoru taking control of her body and actions.
Katana Man Helped Denji Evolve His Abilities
Throughout the Chainsaw Man franchise, there have been several opponents who have forced the heroes to adapt in the middle of battle for them to win. For Denji, Katana Man was one of his most formative adversaries, as his speed and skill with the blade were on a completely different level from that of the main character.
Chainsaw Man himself had to push himself past his limits to defeat this adversary, evolving his powers to manifest chainsaws in his legs. Woefully for Katana Man, this battle took place during a time in which Denji was a novice fighter. This means that a more powerful and skillful fighter, such as Asa, would have a much easier time against the bladed fighter.
The Bat Devil Was a Cunning and Violent Beast
One of Denji’s first major opponents, the Bat Devil is a humanoid monster smart enough to trick both the protagonist and Power during their brief battle. Even while injured, this creature was threatening enough for the Blood Fiend to consider him a danger she could not defeat quickly, if only because of her cat being used as a hostage.
After healing himself, the Bat Devil grew powerful enough to challenge Denji during his first few weeks as an official Devil Hunter, implying he was not as weak as most fans imagined. However, this does not mean someone with the power of one of the Four Horsemen would have any issues destroying this monster, making Asa the implicit winner.
The Leech Devil Is Not as Weak as She Might Seem
At first glance, this slow and gigantic monster might not seem like much of a threat, but behind the innocuous looks hides a terrifying ability. The Leech Devil was the living embodiment of a hybrid’s worst nightmare, surviving solely on drinking the blood of her opponents. She was one of Denji’s most challenging opponents, as she was strategic enough to wait until the boy was at his weakest before attacking.
Asa’s bond with the War Devil would likely prevent her from being taken by surprise by the Leech Devil, as Yoru would want to keep her vessel healthy to achieve her ultimate goals. Seeing as prepared opponents could rapidly deal with this terrifying-looking creature, such as Aki eliminating her in seconds, it becomes clear that Asa would dominate during a direct battle.
Kishibe Has Decades of Experience Behind Him
Known for his jaded outlook on life and general apathy towards most issues, Kishibe is one of the most infamous yet effective mentors in shonen anime. He has been a Devil Hunter far longer than most other characters, having honed his skillset to become a deadly warrior. His decades of experience allowed him to completely overwhelm Denji and Power during the beginning of their careers as hunters.
Still, besides a few Devil Contracts, Kishibe is a regular human, making him inherently weaker against the host of one of the Four Horsemen. Even without Yoru’s help, Asa has proven to be a mighty fighter, capable of creating outstandingly powerful weapons with devastating capabilities. While Kishibe’s experience would prove problematic, Asa has the stamina, resilience, and raw power to beat him.
Power’s Fighting Style is Unpredictable and Wild
Also known as the Blood Devil Fiend, Power is by far one of the most popular and beloved Chainsaw Man characters, as well as one of the most impressive fighters early in the series. Her abilities to manifest weapons made from blood, as well as her monstrous strength, made her a major threat against even high-level Devils. Her most glaring weakness was a reckless fighting style and a complete lack of battle experience, traits that she made up for with an intense desire to achieve victory.
Power is by no means an easy character to beat, but in terms of raw power and supernatural abilities, Asa’s War Devil powers would almost always come out on top. The Blood Fiend’s lack of strategy and emotional outbursts would also play against her. Asa is an extremely pragmatic fighter, never rushing against opponents and always trying to exploit their weaknesses, which would prove especially effective against Power.
Santa Claus’s Multiple Contracts Made Her a Major Danger
Introduced as a mysterious assassin whose main mission was to eliminate Makima, Santa Claus is objectively one of the most unique characters the Chainsaw Man franchise has to offer. The unnamed woman behind this moniker made several deals with different Devils to gain power quickly, with the most important ones being the Doll and Darkness entities. She was an outstandingly durable and cunning opponent who pushed Denji to his limits.
Her combat style, which relied heavily on direct attacks from human puppets, was particularly efficient against hand-to-hand opponents, making Asa a direct counter. Her ability to manifest weapons from objects she possesses and her guilt would give the War Devil’s host a major advantage against Santa Claus, as Asa could easily defeat the monstrous woman from afar without compromising her health.
Quanxi Has More Combat Experience than any Other Devil Hunter
Best known as the first-ever Devil-hunter, Quanxi is a woman who hails from a time before the government ever decided to hire humans as defenses against the forces of Hell. She is an extremely skilled and wise fighter, having been around for several decades. Her contract with the Bow Devil gives her an edge in combat against most regular opponents, and her years of experience can easily overwhelm novices.
While there is no denying how strong Quanxi is, the series has made it clear that she is far from being one of the strongest characters, as she struggles to overcome the power of high-tier Devils. Seeing as Asa was able to fight and keep up with opponents that clearly outmatched Quanxi, it is not outlandish to assume that she could defeat the first hunter, given that she was not caught off guard by the speedy assassin.
Yuko’s Devil Form Would Fuel Asa’s Guilt
When she found herself desperate for a way to protect her friend Asa from the relentless bullying she suffered in school, the young Yoko was easily influenced by the Fire Devil, who was pretending to be Chainsaw Man. She agreed to a contract that gave her a monstrous body of unimaginable strength, the ability to read minds, and a bloodlust far superior to that of a regular Fiend.
This monster was depicted as a substantial threat to both Devil Hunters and civilians alike, but Asa would likely have no issues bringing her down. Her guilt-based weapons would become far stronger for being the reason why her friend has adopted this form, and her cautious battle style would easily outclass the rampaging Yuko. The battle would prove devastating in an emotional sense, but it would not be difficult for the War Devil’s host.
Fake Chainsaw Man Was an Imposing but Inexperienced Fighter
Born from the greed of the Chainsaw Man Church and a vital part of the Famine Devil’s plan, Fake Chainsaw Man is a human who made a contract with the Fire Devil, believing it to be the embodiment of Justice at first. The unnamed man behind this identity developed a major hatred towards Chainsaw Man for not saving his brother during the Cockroach Devil’s attack.
He was an extremely speedy and violent opponent who would have become a major problem for the heroes given proper time to adapt to his powers. Nevertheless, the fact that he had only recently acquired his abilities by the time he was introduced puts him in a difficult spot against Asa. The girl could easily utilize the raw strength of her War Devil abilities to incapacitate the vengeful monster.
The Gun Devil Has One Major Weakness Against Asa
A true monster whose power grew uncontrollable in modern times due to the prevalence of firearms, the Gun Devil was one of the primary antagonists of the first part of the Chainsaw Man manga. This beast was capable of firing massive bullets that could destroy entire buildings without issue. The Gun Devil was also an expert marksman, with almost no being in existence capable of avoiding their deadly aim.
Although undoubtedly one of the most powerful characters in the series, the Gun Devil has a major weakness that would allow Asa to quickly dispatch them. According to canon, Yoru sees both the Tank and Gun Devils as her children, having been born from the rapid advancement of war technology. Due to this, Asa would also hold power over these monsters, maybe even enough to transform them into a weapon for her to use.
