(NewsNation) — Chadwick Boseman’s brothers want his widow removed as the administrator of his estate, People magazine reported.
Kevin and Derrick Boseman have accused Simone Ledward-Boseman of not properly distributing the late actor’s remaining assets, according to court documents obtained by the outlet.
“She [Ledward] continues to exercise complete control over his estate without input from Leroy and Carolyn,” the petition states, referencing Chadwick Boseman’s parents Leroy and Carolyn.
The brothers claim that Chadwick Boseman’s parents are entitled to a quarter of his estate.
Court documents suggest that Ledward-Boseman is entitled to half of the “42” actor’s estate, as he passed away without a will.
Kevin and Derrick Boseman claim that in 2022, a court allegedly issued an order directing Ledward to hand out the estate’s assets, including a $40,000 lifelong-term care policy, to his mother, Carolyn.
They claim that there were several “residual payments from SAG-AFTRA between 2020 and the present” and unclaimed property belonging to the “Black Panther” actor wasn’t accounted for, according to People.
In the petition, the Boseman brothers also allege that Ledward has prevented the family from “pursuing lucrative business opportunities” that would help their parents.
Chadwick Boseman died in 2020 of colon cancer.
