In a recent breakdown of each five-star prospect from the 2024 recruiting class, CBS Sports’ Cooper Petagna evaluated both Clemson football’s Sammy Brown and TJ Moore, along with other 5-star recruits from their class.
Petenga ranked Brown 14th out of 32 overall recruits, and Moore 21st. It's ironic given that both were ranked in that same spot when recruited. Petegna says both are “meeting expectations" and called Brown “one of the best linebackers in the country." Moore is “capable of creating explosive plays as a run-after-catch threat with the ball in his hands," Petegna added.
Brown has been an absolute force since joining Clemson. He led the Tigers with 107 tackles in 2025, adding 13.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, seven pass breakups, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery as arguably Clemson’s best defensive player.
Moore enters 2026 with 97 career receptions for 1,488 yards and nine touchdowns over his first two seasons. If Clemson didn’t have such a stacked wide receiver room and so many issues with offensive play-calling and quarterback play last season, his numbers could look a lot different.
Both are entering what could be their final season as a Tiger and are coming off good-to-great seasons with little team success. If the two could do more than “meet expectations," it would go a long way toward a more successful Clemson season in 2026.
