The Indiana Fever superstar was officially unveiled Wednesday as the cover athlete for the Deluxe Edition of NBA 2K27, becoming the latest WNBA player to receive one of basketball's most recognizable honors. The announcement comes in the middle of another standout season for Clark and further highlights her influence on both the WNBA and the sport as a whole.

Clark joins San Antonio Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama, who appears on the Standard Edition cover, and former NBA MVP Derrick Rose, who is featured on the Ultra Edition honoring his legendary career.

Caitlin Clark Calls NBA 2K27 Cover 'Pretty Surreal'
Speaking with Bleacher Report after the announcement, Clark admitted receiving the cover honor was something she never imagined as a child.
"It's pretty cool and pretty surreal," Clark said. "As a kid growing up, you're always watching to see who's gonna be on the next cover of 2K."
She also emphasized what the recognition means for women's basketball.
"I think it's cool to see where the women's game is at this point in time, too. People are getting excited about what the women's game can bring."
Clark said she hopes seeing a WNBA player featured prominently in one of the world's most popular sports video games inspires the next generation of young athletes.
"Hopefully young kids love it, and hopefully it can show a lot of young girls, too, about what they can achieve one day."
The Fever guard also reflected on sharing the spotlight with Rose and Wembanyama, calling it an honor she doesn't take lightly.
She revealed she first met Rose while attending a basketball tournament in seventh grade and called Wembanyama one of her favorite NBA players, recalling that the Spurs star once gifted her a game-worn signed jersey that remains one of her favorite collectibles.
Clark Jokes About Sophie Cunningham's NBA 2K Rating
Clark also offered a lighthearted opinion when asked about teammate Sophie Cunningham's player rating.
Cunningham carried a 78 overall rating in NBA 2K26, but Clark believes that number deserves a significant boost after the veteran guard's outstanding shooting this season.
"We can get it up, we can definitely get her rating up," Clark said.
"She's second in the WNBA in three-point field goal percentage right now, so we can bump her up to the 80s, the mid-80s."
Clark laughed when discussing her own rating as well, saying she would happily keep last year's 96 overall despite missing significant time because of injuries.
"They can keep me at a 96," she joked. "Maybe they dropped me a little bit, but we'll build it back up."
Steph Curry Remains Caitlin Clark's Biggest Basketball Inspiration
Clark credited Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry as one of the biggest reasons she fell in love with basketball video games.
She recalled trying to beat her older brothers while using Curry in NBA 2K and said she hopes today's young players feel that same excitement when choosing her in NBA 2K27.
"My brothers were big gamers growing up, so I would try to hop in and beat them," Clark said.
"Steph Curry, he was my favorite player and still is one of my favorite players to watch."
Clark added that she hopes gamers embrace her signature style.
"I feel like it's pretty obvious: take the long threes."
The Fever star even laughed about a viral NBA 2K clip showing her dunking over LeBron James.
"That's pretty ridiculous," Clark said. "I wonder if 'Bron has seen that?"
Another Sign of Caitlin Clark's Growing Impact
Clark became one of only a handful of WNBA players to receive her own NBA 2K cover, following stars such as Candace Parker, A'ja Wilson and Angel Reese.
While the cover celebrates Clark individually, she believes moments like this also reflect the continued growth of the WNBA.
"I think you've seen the game just become so much more accessible to our fans," Clark said.
She added that allowing gamers to play as their favorite WNBA teams and players helps introduce new audiences to the league while creating stronger connections with existing fans.
For Clark, appearing on the cover of NBA 2K27 is another milestone in a career already filled with historic accomplishments.
