Caitlin Clark featured as NBA 2K27 deluxe edition cover athlete

After setting numerous league records throughout her first three years in the WNBA, Caitlin Clark can add another tremendous accolade to an already illustrious career resume. It was announced on Wednesday that Clark is the NBA 2K27 Deluxe Edition Cover Athlete.

The former Hawkeye joins NBA stars Victor Wembanyama and Derrick Rose as NBA 2K27 cover athletes. The Spurs' Victor Wembanyama is appearing on the standard edition and former Chicago Bulls great Derrick Rose will be featured on the Ultra Edition.

"Being on the cover of NBA 2K27 is special because this game reaches fans all over the world,” Clark said. “To be the first WNBA player on her own global cover means women's basketball gets to show up on that stage, too, and I am proud to be part of that."

In 22 games so far this season, Clark is averaging 20.7 points, 7.8 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game on 42.8% field goal shooting, 33.3% 3-point shooting and 85.8% free-throw shooting. Clark also just erupted for a first-of-its-kind 45-point, 10-assist performance. That July 17 stat line in the Fever's win over the Seattle Storm sparked Clark's second Eastern Conference Player of the Week honor this season and the fifth of her career.

The global release date for NBA 2K27 is Sept. 4, but the Deluxe Edition comes with early access. With a pre-order cost of $99.99, a Deluxe Edition purchase gives gamers access beginning on Aug. 28.
