The Carolina Panthers are looking to build off the momentum of the 2025 NFL season. With Bryce Young under center, the Panthers went 8-9, won the NFC South, and made a playoff appearance for the first time since 2017.
Of course, their success was in part because of several new additions, including wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan. He was named the Offensive Rookie of the Year after accumulating 70 receptions for 1,014 yards and seven touchdowns, all of which led the team.
He quickly lived up to expectations after the Panthers selected him with the No. 8 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Now going into his second season, the hype continues to grow.
Entering the 2026 season, he has already earned the respect of one of the most important players in Carolina's locker room. During an appearance on ESPN's "Sportscenter," Young explained that McMillan isn't letting his previous success stop him from continuing to improve each day.
“I mean, T-Mac’s a special player, a special person," Young said. "You know he’s been huge for us and being around him a good amount this offseason, I’m just really excited for him. Obviously he’s had a ton of success, but you wouldn't know it by the way that he carries himself. He attacks every single day. You know, again, I’m excited for him.”
The duo will soon be back on the field practicing together. The Panthers rookies reported for training camp on Tuesday, while the rest of the roster was scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, according to ESPN.
As the Panthers prepare for the 2026 season, the continued development of McMillan and Young will be crucial to their success. If the two can build on their early success, Carolina could once again be aiming for a playoff spot.
