Bruce Willis is out and about for a rare appearance amid his ongoing dementia battle. The Die Hard actor, who was diagnosed with aphasia in 2022 and frontotemporal dementia in 2023, was spotted enjoying a ride through Los Angeles’s Studio City on July 19.
In photos obtained by The Mirror, the actor could be seen in the passenger seat of a car wearing a striped polo shirt and a blue jacket, along with a navy cap.
His wife Emma Heming Willis, whom he married in 2009, is now the actor’s primary caretaker. Appearing on Today this May, Emma gave an update on her husband’s health. “You know, we’re doing well,” she said. “My husband is supported and loved, and we’re doing the best we can under the circumstances.”
The couple has two daughters together, Mabel Ray Willis and Evelyn Penn Willis.
“What I’ve learned is that it’s so important to care for ourselves and if we’re not caring for ourselves, how can we care for the people that we love in our lives? So it’s really important to prioritize our health, to prioritize our brain health,” she went on. “There’s actually actionable things we can do today to support our brain tomorrow.”
A month later, Bruce’s ex-wife Demi Moore, who shares three daughters with Bruce, shared a tribute to the actor for Father’s Day. “Generations of love 💛,” she wrote. “Today we celebrate our incredible BW. Sending love to all the fathers, today and always.” The post included photos of Bruce with their three daughters, Rumer Willis, 37, Scout Willis, 34, and Tallulah Willis, 32, as young children, as well as a photo of Bruce with his granddaughter, Rumer’s daughter Louetta Isley Thomas Willis.
Moore and her daughters frequently share photos with Bruce and Emma, and the blended family is reportedly “closer than ever” amid Bruce’s ongoing dementia battle.
