After Monger's Market closed its doors in Bridgeport last year, a sizable hole was left in the vintage and thrifting community in Connecticut's most populated city.
The Recollective opened its doors at the end of last year, bringing a vendor-style marketplace full of odds and ends back to the city. However, a new weekly market looks to bolster Bridgeport's vintage scene even more.
Art Is Good had its grand opening on Saturday at Foolproof Brewing Company on Union Avenue. The inaugural edition featured vintage wares, coffee, live music and live screen printing. For those that missed the first Art Is Good, the next iteration of the market will be held on Sunday, July 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Art Is Good will also be held on Aug. 1 and Aug. 8. Both admission and parking are free.
The new market is presented by FleaNearMe and Poster Conservation, a poster restoration business in Bridgeport from Lee Milazzo. Milazzo has turned his business, which opened in Bridgeport last October, into a social media powerhouse with more than 362,000 followers on Instagram and 1.5 million likes on TikTok.
