On the day he turned 46, and 360 days after earning induction to the Hall of Fame, CC Sabathia witnessed his son's baseball dream live on.
Carsten Sabathia, a first baseman who played collegiately at Georgia Tech and Houston, signed a contract wtih the Milwaukee Brewers Tuesday, July 21.
The younger Sabathia, a 6-4, 240-pound right-handed hitter, was chosen in the 20th round with the third-to-last pick in the draft earlier this month. He joins a franchise that famously acquired CC Sabathia in 2008 and then rode his left arm to a surprise berth in the playoffs. Sabathia signed with the New York Yankees and won the World Series with them the following year.

Yet Sabathia has retained a fondness for the Brewers organization and the club took a flier on his son, who batted .283 with six home runs and an .883 OPS for the Cougars last season. He also played 11 games with Trenton in the MLB Draft League before he was selected.
Sabathia combined with AJ Burnett and fellow lefty Andy Pettitte to start every game of the Yankees' 2009 World Series run. Pettitte's son, Luke, was also selected in this month's draft, the Yankees picking the two-way player in the eighth round.
