World War Z holds the sixth spot on Prime Video’s top 10 movie chart as of July 22, 2026, according to FlixPatrol. Project Hail Mary, starring Ryan Gosling, continues to lead the list. The remaining entries are Do Not Enter, Moonfall, Ruthless, The Sheep Detectives, The Martian, A Working Man, Despicable Me 4, and A Cinderella Story.

World War Z is a zombie movie that stars Pitt as Gerry Lane, a UN investigator traveling across the world in the hopes of finding a solution to a global disaster. Marc Forster directed the movie from a script by Matthew Michael Carnahan, Drew Goddard, and Damon Lindelof. Max Brooks’ 2006 novel World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War serves as a loose inspiration for the film.
Besides Pitt, the cast of World War Z includes Mireille Enos as Karin Lane, James Badge Dale as Captain Speke, and David Andrews as Captain Mullenaro.
Following its world premiere in England on June 2, 2013, the film debuted in U.S. theaters on June 21. Since then, it has made a little over $540 million at the global box office, ranking after 2025’s F1 on the list of Pitt’s highest-grossing movies. The racing feature made more than $634 million globally.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the movie has a 67% approval rating. Brad Brevet of ComingSoon shared in a review that while World War Z was “messy,” its “final 30-45 minutes” made him wish “there was another hour left in the movie rather than a disappointing montage before the end credits.”
