Brad Pitt is in the middle of another family squabble.
The 62-year-old actor's daughter, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, whom he shares with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie, has filed to legally drop "Pitt" from her last name.
Viivienne, 18, submitted paperwork in Los Angeles Superior Court requesting that her legal name be changed from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to just Vivienne Marcheline Jolie. Marcheline Bertrand is the name of Jolie's late mom, who died in 2007 after a battle with ovarian and breast cancer. It comes after his other daughter, Zahara, did the same thing.

In court docs obtained by Page Six, Vivienne cited the reason as "personal." Amid the filing, a source told the outlet, "This is what complete and total parental alienation looks like - it's awful, deliberate and unnecessary."
The filings mark the latest development in the years-long family rift that has unfolded since the Hollywood couple's highly publicized split back in 2016.
The Fight Club star and the Maleficent actress, 51, finalized their divorce in December 2024, ending more than eight years of legal proceedings after Angelina filed to dissolve their marriage in September 2016.
Angelina and Brad share six children, three biological and three adopted; Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17.
Several of the siblings have already taken similar steps. Shiloh successfully petitioned a Los Angeles court in May 2024 to remove "Pitt" from her last name shortly after turning 18.
Maddox also filed legal paperwork in May 2026 seeking to drop "Pitt" from his surname, citing personal reasons, much as his sister did.
Prior to filing, he had already begun using "Maddox Jolie" professionally, including in the credits for the film Couture, on which he worked as an assistant director while his mother starred.
On June 9, Zahara filed paperwork requesting to legally change her name from Zahara Jolie-Pitt to Zahara Jolie. Knox had also appeared to distance himself from the Pitt surname before his twin's filing.
Vivienne similarly dropped her father's last name publicly in May 2024 when she was credited as "Vivienne Jolie" in the Playbill for the Broadway production of The Outsiders, which she helped her mother produce.
Meanwhile, Pax remains close with members of the F1 star's extended family despite having a strained relationship with him.
