Boruto has expanded upon the Narutoverse significantly and revealed to us several powerful jutsu over its 10-year run. With the series continuing, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is continually adding new and overpowered jutsu one after another. In fact, an entirely new class of Jutsu called Shinjutsu was officially introduced to us in Boruto Chapter 75 on November 20, 2022.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 36, which was officially released on July 20, 2026, has now upgraded tremendously to a God-level jutsu, and this is the power of the Prescience ability, wielded by Kashin Koji. This month's chapter saw Amado carry out a new upgrade to Prescience, making it even deadlier than ever before and one of the biggest assets that any village could have in the entire world of ninja.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 36 Officially Reveals The Upgrades Prescience Shinjutsu Of Kashin Koji
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 35, which was released officially in V-Jump Issue #8 on June 18, 2026, set up the kidnapping of Kashin Koji from his hideout. Immediately after Kashin Koji was kidnapped by Amado, he underwent surgery carried out by ultrasound waves, and his Prescience ability was fully deconstructed by the genius scientist Konoha. Amado's original aim is to revive his daughter Akebi, and to that end, Kashin Koji's Prescience ability, which gets infrequent updates about the future every now and then, would be incredibly useful to him. The lack of any fixed interval when it comes to updates and the gap between each update being unknown was a big downside of the Prescience Shinjutsu. It is because of this inconsistency that Amado kidnapped Kashin Koji and performed a surgery on him.
“We're in a brand new future that the you of 4 days ago couldn't have known about. I feel this is Prescience’s greatest weakness. As in, Precognition’s blind spot, which I exploited, and it worked out perfectly, just like I’d expected.” — Amado explains the weakness of Prescience, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #36
Post-surgery, Kashin Koji's Prescience Shinjutsu is now much stronger than ever before and stands as one of the most powerful techniques in the entire world. His visions will now come much quicker, and the updates will be much more frequent and Trackable. This also reduces the blind spot in prescience, making it a deadly upgrade to this Jutsu. As explained in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #13 on August 21, 2024, Prescience is a deadly ability that allows Kashin Koji to see the future itself across multiple timelines. All the futures that he sees are stored inside his brain within the Prescience ability, and that makes him a valuable asset to have. It is because of this ability that Boruto was able to strengthen himself as much as he did, and at the same time, why Konoha still stands today.
“The interval between updates is a real problem. If we can shorten it even a bit, we could not only learn of new futures more quickly and more precisely, but avoid danger more easily too.” — Amado explains the newly upgraded Prescience, Boruto: TBV Chapter 36
Why Koji's Shinjutsu Can Save The World
Kashin Koji's Prescience ability is a deadly power that has come to the aid of the ninja world time and again. In the battle against Mamushi, Kashin Koji warned Shikamaru Nara ten days in advance, which was officially seen in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 27 on October 20, 2025. Similarly, in Boruto: Two Blue Chapter #13, we saw how Kashin Koji took in Boruto Uzumaki and guided him to become the ninja that he is today. He is also the one who made Boruto aware of the Invasion of the Shinju in Konoha.
"Boruto, listen to me calmly. Your plan to use Sarada as bait will fail. Hold on. Don't go, Boruto. You fool!" — Kashin Koji shows the upgraded power of Prescience, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #36
All things considered, Kashin Koji is the most valuable person in the entire world of Boruto right now. With his new upgraded Prescience, Kashin Koji is now an even bigger asset. He gets updates more frequently now, which means that the future is way more predictable at the moment than it ever was. This also means that Kashin Koji is the only hope of the world at this point in time, making him an important character and adding additional importance to Jiraiya as well.
Given that Kashin Koji is a clone of Jiraiya of Konoha's Legendary Sannin, it makes perfect sense as to why he wants to save the world and why he stands as the last hope against a threat that could potentially go on to destroy the entire planet, such as the Otsutsuki, the Shinju, or even Shibai himself in the future. We are eagerly waiting to see what Mikio Ikemoto and Masashi Kishimoto do with the character arc of Kashin Koji, especially after his upgraded Prescience vision. For now, there are no death flags for this character in this ongoing arc, but in the future, his safety is likely to be compromised because such a powerful ability cannot be allowed to exist, especially at the hands of Konoha.
Kashin Koji's Shinjutsu Sets Up A Big Death Flag For Him
At the moment, Kashin Koji is fully safe in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. However, in the future, it is highly likely that his safety will be compromised. This is possible because Kashin Koji possesses an ability that takes away some of the tension from the plotline of Boruto. By upgrading the Shinjutsu, Koji can now warn of any threat in advance and possibly even help figure out the perfect way to counter these threats. This is a great asset to Konoha, but to the overarching plot of the Boruto series, it is detrimental. Knowing all things in advance reduces the shock value of many plot points. It is for this reason that Prescience could either be taken away from him or Kashin Koji could die.
"Now I understand. Amado had wanted to cling to it. To that man's mighty fate. To the minuscule possibility of change. Kashin Koji, clone of Jiraiya of the Legendary Sannin, that you shall die here was also predestined by your genes!" — Isshiki teases Koji's death, Boruto Chapter #47
It must also be remembered that Kashin Koji is a clone of none other than Jiraiya of the legendary Sannin. As we all know, Jiraiya died a heroic death for the sake of his village in Naruto Chapter 383 on January 21, 2008. Kashin Koji himself stated in Boruto Chapter 16 that all things tie him back to the village of Konoha, which he is fated to protect. As such, Kashin Koji dying to protect Konoha would be a perfect conclusion to his overarching character arc, and that is something that we would like to see as well.
For now, Koji is safe until the threat of Jura and the other Shinju is dealt with, but eventually, he might fall if the suspense and shock value of the Boruto series is to be retained. Until then, Boruto Uzumaki, Shikamaru Nara, and all the others in Konoha, such as Amado, are going to enjoy the various updates they get through his Shinjutsu named Prescience.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 36 by Mikio Ikemoto, supervised by Masashi Kishimoto, is available to read now via Manga Plus and Viz Media.
