Beyoncé and Shakira embraced their natural curls while at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final and scored an internet-breaking photo together that’s since been shared by the “Dai Dai” singer after she performed in the global soccer tournament’s first-ever halftime show.
The superstars came together for a viral photo inside New York New Jersey Stadium, which transformed MetLife Stadium into the site of the World Cup Final, where Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 in extra time on Sunday, July 19. The post has amassed 3.7 million likes in under 24 hours.
Shakira, 49, rocked her signature voluminous honey-blonde curls in a similar hue to Beyoncé’s tightly curled locks, which blended as they put their heads together for the friendly picture of their embrace. They each wore black sunglasses and massive smiles on their faces.
The “Break My Soul” singer, 44, wore a cream coat with a tie around the waist paired with lace capri tights. The “Hips Don’t Lie” artist wore a strapless tan and black bodysuit detailed with tiny half-moon designs and accessorized with matching gloves.
“What a day yesterday! Running into so many people I appreciate and respect, and receiving so much love from all of you!! Also, ¡que viva Colombia en este día y siempre!” Shakira captioned her photo.
Other stars in the Colombian icon’s Instagram carousel included Kevin Hart, Tom Cruise, Anya Taylor-Joy, MrBeast and David Beckham. BTS also appeared in the star-studded halftime show, which featured Justin Bieber and Madonna.
Shakira’s outfit for the halftime show was as headline-worthy as her performance.
The singer wore a custom Roberto Cavalli ensemble by the brand’s creative director, Fausto Puglisi, complete with more than 200,000 Swarovski crystals, an exclusive sunset-inspired print and couture details that took more than two weeks to create.
Designed to shimmer under the stadium lights and move effortlessly through Shakira’s signature hip-shaking choreography, the custom two-piece look paired a crystal-covered bodysuit with a dramatic fringed skirt in “golden hour” hues of orange and yellow, with pink accents.
Shakira was very intentional about her look, telling Vogue that she wanted “something that reflected the energy of the performance but also honored the significance of the occasion.”
“This is such a global event, so I wanted to wear something that felt timeless but also modern, with movement and personality,” she continued.
The ensemble also harkened back to her iconic 2010 World Cup performance of “Waka Waka,” for which she also wore Cavalli.
“It [was] kind of natural and organic to end the World Cup in this way,” Puglisi told Vogue. Shakira added, “It’s a full circle moment—the colors are similar too. We are paying tribute to the past and looking toward the future.”
