Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is set to rerelease in theaters worldwide in celebration of the movie’s 25th anniversary. The film’s return includes 12 minutes of never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage, offering fans an exciting deeper look into the making of the classic Wizarding World entry.

The anniversary screening event takes place from August 27, 2026, through September 3, 2026, during which viewers can watch all eight Harry Potter films on the big screen. This move gives fans the chance to revisit the full saga from start to finish.

Beyond the cinema rereleases, the celebrations are further expanded by the annual global Back to Hogwarts campaign. This year’s edition features live fan events, exclusive content, collaborations, and much more in store for fans worldwide.

The anniversary celebrations are also highlighted by a one-day fan celebration event in London on September 1. Inspired by the upcoming Harry Potter series, the event includes interactive experiences, giveaways, and exclusive announcements surrounding the new season. The studio also announced that there will be no official Back to Hogwarts event at King’s Cross Station.

Fans around the world can also watch the annual Back to Hogwarts Showcase live on the official Harry Potter YouTube and TikTok channels.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was the first installment in the franchise series, and Chris Columbus directed it. Based on J.K. Rowling’s 1997 novel, the film introduces Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley in their first year of school at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The film starred Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Richard Harris, Maggie Smith, Alan Rickman, and Robbie Coltrane, among many others.

Warner Bros. Discovery has announced that tickets for the upcoming screenings will go live on July 31, 2026. The global celebration also builds anticipation for HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter television adaptation, which is slated to premiere this Christmas.
