32-year-old Belleville man found with nearly 80 grams of meth after traffic stop

EDWARDSVILLE — A Belleville man charged with methamphetamine delivery and possession of methamphetamine after a July 2025 traffic stop has pleaded guilty to the lesser charge.

Lamour Williams III, 32, of Belleville, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of methamphetamine, a Class 1 felony, and was sentenced to 30 months’ probation.

He was originally charged with unlawful delivery or possession with the intent to deliver methamphetamine or a substance containing methamphetamine, a Class X felony; and unlawful possession of methamphetamine, a Class 1 felony.

According to court documents at the time charges were originally filed, on July 15, 2025, Williams was allegedly found to be in possession of between 15-100 grams of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver.

Additional court documents stated that a sheriff’s deputy stopped Williams for driving without a visible registration, and it was discovered there was an active warrant for a methamphetamine possession charge filed in June 2025 in Madison County.

Just under 80 grams of methamphetamine, packaged in three separate bags, and a digital scale were found during a search of the vehicle.

It was also noted that in addition to the active warrant in the June case, he also had a warrant for failure to appear in a 2021 case. On June 1, 2026, that case was dismissed.
